Three in a suite questions

Our upcoming Spring break cruise there will be three of us (DH, DS, and me) in a Sky Suite (6145) on the Summit. It will be the first time in a suite plus the first time my DH is joining my DS and I on a Celebrity cruise. The first two passengers (DS and I) have all four perks and DH currently has none.

1. Can we change who has the perks? Swap DH with DS?

2. Trying to decide if we really need to get a drink package for the 3rd person. Do you need to have a drink package to order drinks in the Retreat lounge or sun deck? Will the butler bring latte to the cabin without a drink package?

3. DS will be sleeping on the couch. Have you slept on one since the Revolution? Was it comfortable? Is it twin sized on top of the couch or a pullout sleeper sofa? Any pictures of a sofa sleeper post revolution made up to sleep in?

If you list DH a the 2nd cruiser and DS as the third then DH should get the perks.

You do not need a beverage package to get drinks in the Retreat Lounge but they did ask for our sea pass to get drinks at the Retreat Sundeck on Equinox. We haven't sailed without a beverage package for years so not sure about getting lattes from the Butler in your suite.

Is it possible to change the listing after final payment?

We were in 6146 on Millie this past February just after she was revolutionized.  I have attached a photo of the couch.  It did not appear to be a pull out, but rather a sleep on top of it.  The length was probably 6 feet... it was very firm, probably because it was new, and it probably still is firm because it was uncomfortable to sit on as it was too deep to sit and lean back comfortably.image.thumb.jpeg.48522c6b085fb8da77cbefde4262c178.jpeg

I think you can get along well just picking up drinks in the Retreat.   As others said the Retreat Sun Deck asks for a drink package in order to get a drink.  In addition if you are Elite or Above you get free drinks (special CC list of drinks) daily between about 5:00-7:00 PM.

Many passengers pick up a glass of wine in the Retreat and bring it to dinner with them when they don't have a drink package.  The Retreat Bar is open most of the days with a bar tender and water and mixers are available for free.

Certainly that can be done, but for many it is not worth the hassle.

On the M-class ships the retreat lounge is up near the front of the ship and the dining rooms are at the back, so you need to carry your glass of wine almost the full length of the ship and through the casino. One bump is all it takes, so if you plan to do that, the best way is to get someone else to carry your glass of wine for you. 😉

Have to agree with you.   We don't worry about it as a Zenith we get a free Premium Drink Package.   I can tell you that on many TA's where Suite's don't get packages they are lined up before dinner, even on an M Class.

The butler service is a suite amenity.  It has nothing to do with what drink package you do or do not have.

Also, I don't think you need to have a drink package to get a drink on the Retreat Sundeck (assuming you are able to get up there).  Can't you just purchase the drinks?  They will be charged to your account.

Yes, DS could just buy drinks and we would probably save money over a package. We aren't Zenith or elite so just trying to figure out how best to balance cost, convenience, and suite benefits.

I believe it is easy to have them change the order of the passengers to allow the 4 perks on passengers 1 & 2 to go to the people you believe would make the most use.   I think a simple call to Celebrity or your TA (if you booked with one) can accomplish this.

Then I agree with others that the 3rd passenger can probably get most of their drinks at the Retreat lounge and pay per drink at any other venue where they would want something without going to the Retreat lounge.   It's very common to take a couple of unopened waters and sodas from the retreat lounge for consumption in your room or elsewhere.

Drinks are not complimentary for Suite guests in any venue except the Retreat Lounge.   In Luminae and the Retreat Sundeck you either pay with your drink package or it's added to your seapass account.

Yes. We had a similar situation. We changed my son to the second passenger so he could have the beverage package.
When we checked in at the terminal, we discovered that they had our credit cards mixed up. If your son has his own credit card or credit limit, you might want to double check at the terminal or passenger services.

Thanks to all who replied to my questions about having three in a sky suite on Summit. I was able to swap DH and DS so that DH has the perks. Talked with DS about the Retreat Lounge and just ordering his drinks a la carte from elsewhere around the ship. He's cool with it. It was a great suggestion - thanks again.
