katrina915 Posted January 9, 2020 #1 Share Posted January 9, 2020 Looking at flights from Tampa to Dublin in May and wondering where I can find on-time arrival stats for flights so that I can increase my odds of making my connection. Where can I find this info? TIA
mikkelhansen Posted January 9, 2020 #2 Share Posted January 9, 2020 (edited) If you know the flight numbers, Flightradar24 and Flightera are good sources for day-by-day stats. FR24 can only show 7 calendar days back without a subscription or logging in, but you can playback the actual flight on that specific day, whereas Flightera shows all flights several years back without even logging in, but with no playback function. CruiserBruce Posted January 9, 2020 #3 Share Posted January 9, 2020 Having enough time in between your flights is probably the better estimator of making your connection.

Concur. Along with the airlines involved and connecting airports.

CruiserBruce Posted January 10, 2020 #6 Share Posted January 10, 2020 I would not be comfortable with the Philly option- even minor weather issues frequently affects operations in that very busy air corridor. Chicago is fine. I have not flown through Charlotte.

Out of those three, I would choose Charlotte. I'm a AA frequent flier and connect through there as often as possible - it's just easier, less hectic. And you can grab some Bojangles ;). 1h40 is tons of time in CLT, though as always, the more time the better when you're trying to connect on to a 1x daily flight. PHL is the one I would avoid. Horrible airport. ORD would be backtracking a decent amount, though the 2h50 connection is of course more likely to result in a made connection. Gives you an even bigger connection time (3:17 vs 1:39) and a comfortable stroll between flights, rather than dashing. Time to stretch your legs, grab a nibble and relax before getting into a tube for almost 8 hours. Airline systems tend to push you towards the shortest connecting times, but you don't have to take them. Both are pricing the same, so you should be able to book either. waterbug123 Posted January 13, 2020 #9 Share Posted January 13, 2020 As far as major hub airports go, Charlotte is typically less hectic and easier to navigate than O'Hare or Philly, for what that's worth.
