Water

You can take water onboard if you wish but you can save the bother by buying 6x1.5 litre bottles from you cabin steward for £10.50. Perfectly drinkable if you don’t fancy the tap water.

Not sure that's still available on all cruises Pete.

Our cabin steward said he could only supply cans now and if we wanted bottles we had to buy them from the bar.

But, there were a lot of things different on our New Year cruise, so don't know if it is now the norm.

They had cans on the Celebrity Edge in August - it was a real pain as people were going up to the bars for cans of water continually so it caused queues and extra work for the bar staff. Would be better to have packaging like you have milk in to give a larger size

It was certainly available on Arcadia at the end of November but as it came in plastic bottles, maybe they don’t want to make it too easy for people to buy any more. I don’t suppose the cans your steward mentioned held 1.5 litres.😏

Not being able to reseal the cans was the issue for us as you couldn't take them anywhere once opened and run the risk of spillage if the ship gets rocky.

No, the free cans were the size of a beer can and that is what the steward could bring.

I'm hoping it was a trial and they come up with a decent alternative.

The queue at Costa most mornings was huge..

They limited the number of cans you could have in some bars too - it was a ridiculously low number of cans (particularly when you think we were in Greece in August !). The cans were so small and you could drink one in minutes ! We did talk to the head of the department and I am sure that they will listen and work on it as it is new for them too. We used to like the 6 bottles we could buy on the ship as we don't drink the ship's water, so am hoping that they have sorted out a good system by August.

PS 'They' means Celebrity and the cans were smaller than a beer can.

Take your own drinking container.  Boil the water in the kettle, let it cool, fill your bottles, that's what we do.  Tastes fine after it has been boiled.

Plus 1 to that. Plastic bottles,  with water that contains plastic molecules - bad for the environment and bad to drink.
