Bummed! Princess has cancelled for all of 2020

Recommended Posts

We are very disappointed... Princess has now cancelled remaining

Transatlantic and European cruises for 2020. We were to go this September.

Due to the circumstances, I hope that Highland Tours Inverness

will refund our "non-refundable" deposit which we made in food faith

before all of this craziness began.

Sorry your cruise was cancelled. Please, let us know how your Highland Tours deposit is resolved.

I will. This virus is having such a negative impact on everyone's lives.

As of Monday, we get to walk on our own beach (.75 miles from us) in our little town.

I did not have any cruises booked, but I'm also sad that none will be available for us this year. We enjoyed going to London the last three years, and I was looking forward to going back (even if DH did not make it with me this year).

We cancelled our Norwegian fjords cruise with a day before in London about a month before Princess cancelled the summer's cruises. We saw the writing on the wall and did not see how they could possibly do the cruise.

Yes, the vendor responded immediately and it was refunded.

He said, "under the circumstances"...

And the bummer is that the same itinerary for 2021 is available but on

an older ship (the Crown vs. the Regal) and at least $2,000.00 more.

It looks like Princess is trying to make up for this year's losses.  😢

Yes indeed, a bummer.

That may be.  But another possibility is that they're not trying to fill every bed on the ship--i.e. no more than 2 to a cabin.

Good point. That is not so good for young families though.

True.  But perhaps this is not the time for children to be on a cruise as I assume they may be more vulnerable to COVID.  And if that's the case, I can understand why no cruise line would want to assume that vulnerability.  Finally, why have all (or many) public schools closed down, if not to protect their students and staff?  Another possibility if kids aren't as vulnerable as adults, I can see that cruise ships don't want the responsibility of caring for kids whose parent or parents develop COVID while onboard.

We went from May 4, then to September 25, British Isles on the Regal and now trying

for May 2, 2021 on the Crown.

This was such a huge disappointment to us as we had planned for so long, and was very

excited to experience the Regal!

All plans will move forward now to next May but very bummed Liverpool is not on this itinerary!

nini: Come join us on May 2!

I will be disembarking the Crown May 2/21. If all goes well!
