Richk582 Posted July 25, 2020 #1 Share Posted July 25, 2020 A video just posted from the Sovereign as she was beached next to Monarch a few days ago 😢
gatour Posted July 25, 2020 #2 Share Posted July 25, 2020 Thanks for the video. I first sailed on her when she was only a year or so old and the largest cruise ship in the world. Later on my my wife and myself took a few short cruises out of Port Canaveral. The last time we saw her in person was after she was transferred. She happened to be having a turnaround day in Barcelona while we were having a pre-cruise (Brilliance) stay there.
WeMissSeaView Posted July 25, 2020 #3 Share Posted July 25, 2020 It was sad to see the two sister ships at their last port call after having been on the Majesty in March when cruising stopped. I wonder how much time the Majesty has before she goes to her last port.
Rare Oceansaway17 Posted July 25, 2020 #4 Share Posted July 25, 2020 This video was more dignified.than the Monarch as it had no talking. Very moving. Sovereign was my first RCI ship in October of 1989 when she was still new. I feel lucky to have found a hast in new condition - lavender color on ebay. There was a pink one yesterday in case anyone intetested.
ONECRUISER Posted July 26, 2020 #5 Share Posted July 26, 2020 (edited) Over 32 years now since I first Boarded her on Sovereign Cruise #018, back when every ships paying cruise had numbers. Dennis#1 Posted July 26, 2020 #7 Share Posted July 26, 2020 Sad to see the video, as the Sovereign was our first cruise. Many good memories.
lb0103 Posted July 26, 2020 #8 Share Posted July 26, 2020 Sovereign was our first cruise EVER in 1988, her #013 but I don't think they called it that because some people thought it bad luck. Well we were hooked from then on and now so sad to see her go. Even worse that we will not be on ANY cruise this year and if/when things get started we will see about next year.
