While we're working on identifying the ship in Colin_Cameron's Cabo San Lucas photo and identifying carlmm's cruise terminal photo, here's my contribution for today showing QM2 at anchor. No hints yet since almost the entire port is visible in this shot. There is also an opportunity here to identify the other ship at the pier if you'd like to give that a try.

Is it Road Town, Tortola ?

Correct.

Dead Chest Island in the centre of the picture.☠️

Kudos for identifying that island. I think I've learned something about my own photo as I didn't recall that island's name.

I'm going with Hubbard Glacier, Alaska. I found an online photo that is a very good match to that mountain profile.

Hmm. I think you're right.

I've spent the last 24 years thinking that was Glacier Bay. That's where we were supposed to be. That's where we were told we were. Hence my comment about going with the obvious. A picture of a glacier and a bay.

Every day's a school-day.

And the ship? (I think Hattie knows)

Well they aren't too far apart. Is it possible you did both? I wouldn't know one from the other myself. Alaska is the only one of the 50 United States that I have not visited. I was planning to fix that with an Alaskan cruise one of these years.

My guide was this photo from wikipedia which purports to be of Hubbard Glacier and is an uncanny match to your photo even down to the snow patterns on the mountain sides.

Don't think we did both but would need to dig out the daily programmes to be sure. Apart from the 5 mins when I took the photo the day was spent in thick fog.  And this was before everyone carried a GPS in their pocket.

49 states visited is some achievement. I have 15 under my belt, but it may be a while before I add any more.
