Royal Suite

The Royal Suite on Silhouette is lovely and the 1/2 bath is a bonus.  The complimentary specialty dining on the S class is wonderful with Murano, Lawn Club as well as others.  Silhouette has been Revolutionized so you'll enjoy the Retreat Lounge and newly added Retreat Sundeck.
Have a wonderful sailing!

Hi.

The Royal Suite is great.  We were on Silhouette February/March 2020 in a Royal Suite after the upgrades to the ship.  It was beautiful.  I have a review with pictures and a short video of the suite linked in my signature.

We also were on Reflection in Royal Suite April 2018 (review with pictures linked in my signature too).  I know you mentioned Silhouette but this way if you wanted to see the before and after upgrades you can.  I know it’s different ships but same class so pretty close.

It’s a great experience and you may be hooked by how well you are spoiled.

Any questions I’m happy to answer if I can, I miss talking about cruising.

I’m sure you will have an amazing time.

Hi Noreen

Read your review. I am in awe of someone who can go into all this detail.

Unable to load your cabin video though.

Like everyone we have had so many cancelled cruises that a treat was required.

Just lost July 2021 so doubling down on July 2022.

Booked first and probably last royal suite.

Is there anything else I can expect

Silhouette from Southampton July 2022

Hi there,

We are regular RS cruisers on S class although we are now two years late to experience Silhouette....Still hoping for September this year but we will wait and see....

In Southampton they do have the ‘Special Delivery’ service. Look for the sign and your taxi driver can stop and leave you and your luggage there. Your luggage will disappear and you will be escorted to the check in area and then escorted on board. Drop off to sipping champagne in Michael’s/Retreat in our experience is about 10/15 minutes.

The shoreside concierge will have contacted you pre cruise to arrange your in suite bar set up (spirits, beers, sodas...). At this point you can also prebook speciality restaurants and add other in suite requests such as pillow type.

To us, one of the main bonuses of booking RS or above is unlimited access to the speciality restaurants. It is wonderful to go to Murano’s (or the other restaurants) multiple times during a cruise. They will remember your preferred seating area, bread type, match wines to each course and on occasion cook you something not even on the menu! We haven’t cruised Silhouette yet but loved having the options of lunchtime dining in The Porch and Lawn Grill on Reflection.

Service for all suite guests is good but there is a heightened level of service for RS/PH guests. If there is anything special you would like then let your butler or the Retreat concierge know. Your butler can arrange a special course by course menu in your suite, your concierge can arrange a bridge tour or other behind the scenes experiences.

Sincere best wishes for a fantastic cruise!

You will love it... and it is hard to go back .

Bear in mind of the ten top suites on board you will be in one of them and from our experience treated accordingly.

If you want to see the bridge or do a sailaway on the helipad just ask the Retreat concierge and it will be arranged.

As others have said Luminae is great but every venue is open to you . Don't forget the Porch or Sushi on 5 for lunch or even a snack between meals. We have turned up at Murano on occasion post dinner just to have their cheese board and a glass of port. You can also take advantage of the gelato in the gelateria for free.

Thanks so much for all the replies.

Would definitely love a bridge tour.

Like most people I cannot wait to sail again.

We have been fortunate that we are only carrying deposits over as all our cruises so far were cancelled before final payment of we did lift and shift option.

Have a September European Capital cities still on books but who knows if it will go.

So excited to have a Royal Suite.

We were upgraded to is today a Penthouse Suite for a trans-Atlantic in late 2013.  Thought it was pretentious and unneeded.  We are very comfortable in a Sky or what is today called a "Royal Suite."  Really didn't need the extra space, dining room or hot tub...or the constant attention from the butler.  Was memorable...even if a bit embarrassing since we were traveling with friends.

Have only done Sky Suites, thus far, butler and room steward, OMG they work so hard and are incredible.  In Oct 2022, we booked the Iconic Suite on Apex, sharing with another couple, will most likely be the first and last for us as well.  Lot's of reasons we did this, but suffice to say Oct 2022 cannot come soon enough!  Enjoy that Royal Suite

Make sure you let the concierge know what behind the scenes  tours you would like. On our last two cruises RS and PH guests were invited to a bridge tour the last morning of the cruise followed by lunch in Blu with senior staff. Very pleasant. On other cruises it has simply been a bridge tour.

The key to getting the most out of your RS is communication with your butler. Many guests want very little in suite and do not want to be disturbed by the butler so unless you tell him you want something (like a full fruit bowl or an evening snack left nightly) he will not know to do it.  He will leave you a card with his number on it, just ring if you want something. If your butler is off duty the call will automatically transfer to another butler who will sort out what you want. If we want to arrange something special (like a sail away party or a special in suite dining option) we always give the butler at least 24 hours notice. This means he can better organise his work, we are aware he does have several suites to see to.

Re your bar set up...When you get an email from the shoreside concierge it will list some spirits. You do not need to stick to this list, they will provide anything within the premium package you would like or some special wine. Unless you have a real favourite spirit it can be an idea to choose a spirit good for mixing into long cool drinks for the afternoons and a mellow sipping option to enjoy late at night on the balcony.

Can’t wait for our next cruise!

We had a Royal Suite on our last cruise, transatlantic Oct 2019 on the Silhouette from Southampton.(seems a lifetime ago). It was by far our best cruise ever, bridge tour and helipad sail into Bermuda were great, but the service we had from our butler Natalia, and the unlimited use speciality restaurants were superb.
We are debating to book another Royal Suite on our next cruise, Once you have experienced all the perks, the more you will want to do it again.

That's why I will never turn left to first class on an aeroplane.

the first suite we booked was supposed to be a treat

well that did not work as we always book suites now

we had Natalia as our butler in October 2019 too

I hope that we will see some familiar faces again

definitely will try and experience all that we can on this cruise

Loving Natalia... My Gastrognome had a hair dilema last cruise and while i waited unbeknownst in Luminae the problem was fixed in our suite by the amazing  Natalia in a way only a perfect butler could. Needless to say she made an an amazing suite experience just that little bit extra special .

Hi.

I enjoy writing the reviews - it’s great to go back and relive them.

Let me try attaching the video directly here.

If this doesn’t work, I finally figured out how to put it on youtube, just did this a day or so ago - link below

I hope one of these work.

Thank you so much. I have just watched your U tube video.

When you opened the balcony door It took me back to the sound of cruising.

The suite looks amazing. My daughter who travels with me will live on that balcony.

Had cruise this July cancelled and can't do the staycation offerings as although I will have had both vaccines by June my daughter will be lucky to have had one.

We have another cruise in September but who knows what will happen there.

Building the anticipation up now.

Just be aware that some of the events like bridge tours and special lunches will probably take awhile to return after sailings resume.   I'm pretty sure these gatherings won't happen until after sailings are at 100% capacity, even for the upper suites.

That’s a good point, cruises will not be what they were pre Covid, especially when it comes to gatherings in small spaces.   Celebrity has already discontinued some events, Elite happy hours, and Zenith cruiser dinner parties.    I hope they will keep the unlimited dining in Specialty Restaurants as that, and the second bath, are the real draws to upgrade to a RS.   If they need to remove some tables from Murano, it will be difficult to get reservations.   Won’t be as much a problem for the outside venues and the Tuscan was never very crowded.

Thank you for the video tour.  Beautiful suite.

Is there a pull out bed from the sofa in the S class RS?

I don’t know if it pulls out to a bed, we didn’t check.  But the couch itself was comfortable as Scott definitely took a few naps on it.  I am sure someone will have that answer

That’s why I enjoy writing these reviews.  I have been re-reading my own recently and missing cruising more and more.

Whenever that next cruise happens we will all appreciate it even more.
