I think its now safe to say my cruise on the ship from Montego on 7th December is not going ahead.

Equally those sailing from mid November from the same place arent going.

You would think they would cancel them all unless they are going to sail the ship down empty

Another dilemma, have booked for January on Explorer 2, do we pay balance when due or will they cancel . Think we know the answer

We have the same dilemma, everything on our Pride of Panama itinerary is on the red list except Jamaica. Can’t see that will be changing any time soon certainly not before final payment is due.

Just wish all cruise companies would see sense and make early decisions so we can get on with our lives and not continue to have to worry about these things.

Following the latest changes the Marella website now has the following:

Discovery will now sail  a series of cruises to Greek ports from Corfu in September and October. She will then sail to Palma and pick up her scheduled cruise to Barbados.

Discovery 2 will now not sail with guests until April 2022!

Explorer 1 doesn't appear to have any further changes!

Explorer 2 will sail some cruises to Spanish ports from Malaga following its UK cruises and will start its cruise to Montego Bay from Malaga on 7/11 instead of Naples on 4/11 and with the exception of that and not calling at Palma the cruise appears to be the same schedule

Hopefully there won't be anymore changes!!

Our friend had there Discovery 2 ex Corfu 8th Oct on Wednesday.  On hearing that the Discovery 1 would be doing ex Corfu September & October they called today to transfer onto the 8th October departure. On hold for just over an hour, they were advised that after further information yesterday they are not sure if the cruises will run ex Corfu so they could not transfer. They then asked to book Explorer 1 ex Palma on the 9th October, strangely are then advised that they can't transfer/re-book as there is a doubt if this will be running.

Yet both of the above are showing website

Obviously at the moment they have no idea what they will be doing, understandably I think, but that is not helping cruisers that have bookings or transfers. Just pleased that although we are fighting for a refund, since March last year, we have nothing booked at the moment. Would love to get back to the old day's of having cruises booked for a couple of years great times🌞

I’m booked on the Explorer 2 for December 21st 2021. I’m doing the Pride of Panama cruise and most ports of call are on the red list. Does anyone think it will go ahead ?.

We are booked on the same itinerary in January and have been wondering the same thing, other cruise lines have been pulling their Central & South American itineraries in recent weeks so they obviously don’t think the situation is going to improve any time soon.

Thankfully our final payment date is late October so hoping the situation will be clearer then, really don’t want to be faced with a last minute change of itinerary to something we don’t want.

I think that the organised tours are a money making exercise for the cruise lines.

There is no way the tour guide will be able to keep a full coach load of people together and also stop them mixing with public during the trip.

The  tour guide may well have trouble keeping everyone together but it wont be the tour guides fault but passengers who are aware of the rules on onshore trips deciding not to adhere to them.

Pretty sure if passengers stray from organised tours that Marella will follow MSC line who back in August refused a family re-boarding after they seperated from an organised group tour

Jim, we are due to go on the explorer in October. Not great if the only way to leave the ship is with a tour. It would be a long two weeks given we normally do our own thing in port. Hard to see if this rule will change.

Hi fellow Fifer,

Yeah we are also do your own thing in port people so to do a cruise just now under the current restrictions would mean all days on the ship and thats not for us.Add in nigh on an extra £200 testing for myself and Mrs Jim The Scot cruising/holidays are a no no for us unfortunately.

You,d like to think come October that the ruling on only organised tours would be ditched then for us it would only leave the over priced testing to be done away but sadly can see that being with us for some time to come
