MLIfe Gold $125 OBC

It says I must call to get this at the time of booking.

Does that mean I have to call to book or can I book online & then call?

Are they sticklers about it only being when it is booked?

With apologies for not answering your question...

Understanding that some claim Captain's Club benefits are near worthless at this time, are you taking a pass on the Captain's Club benefits? The MLife program suggests you can't get both (https://www.celebritycruises.com/things-to-do-onboard/casino/m-life-partnerships)

I’m a member of M life Rewards and Captain’s Club; do I receive onboard benefits from both loyalty programs when sailing?

No, all tier benefits are nontransferable, subject to validation and are non-combinable. Members must choose at the time of booking whether to receive onboard benefits from either Captain’s Club or M life Rewards.

I didn't, they were able to add it after the booking.

I am gonna call--worth a shot!

Probably goes without saying (bad pun intended!), this isn't just for you but the whole CC community, don't bring to their attention the "at the time of booking".  Simply call say something like "Here's my X booking #, I would like to add my MLife # for the on board credit".

Let it be known--NOT trying to break any rules or anything.

I JUST found out about this today!

Let us know if you were successful.  I've now done this to our sailing and my next sailing to Alaska (which I may rebook to next summer).

I found out a few days after the booking that the OBC should be showing up as a credit in my cruise planner and it wasn't.  I called, they added the OBC without a problem.  Rep told me you have request the OBC and provide your MLife # to each sailing.  MLife account doesn't get linked to your X account/profile.

Edit for one more datapoint.  My sailings were booked through BCC/(casino), I called the BCC phone number who added the OBC.  I would start with the BCC number since we know they've been successful in the past.  Not sure if they can help those who booked through a TA, may need to go through your TA but calling the BCC oneself is the best move since you have nothing to lose.

Well I was on hold for over an hour but finally got thru.

They put my MLife number on all my reservations but they need to contact MLife to confirm that I am Gold--fair enough.

Then they are supposed to email me when my OBC is on my account.

Thanks!

Hi!  The first time I did this, I told my travel agent at the time of booking & gave our MGM #'s and explained about the onboard credit.   She said she could never get through so I called and got through right away and it was simple.  I provided the Celebrity booking #'s, MGM #'s and the OBC was added on.  I then had to contact the travel agent and tell her to 'pull it over' and then it showed on the booking which I have printed out but it also shows in My Celebrity Cruise Planner.   This is the phone # I call: 1-855-227-2537.

Am I missing something here?

I've got Gold tier status with M life. I've also got Platinum tier with RCL C&A, which got me Select tier for our first cruise with X.

I'm gobsmacked. Can't believe I didn't know about this!

Here are details, for those of you like me: Royal Caribbean International & Celebrity Cruises - MGM Resorts

It says it must be claimed at time of booking. I'm going to call today and see if I can't score the OBC anyways.

I just found out yesterday as well!

I just called BCC & said "I'd like to add my MLife number to my reservations." No problem.

Then I inquired about the OBC & she said she had to see if I was on "the list".

(WHAT LIST--EVERY MLife Gold person??!!)

Shockingly, I WASN'T on "the list"

So she said they had to email MLife who would confirm I am Gold & then they would add the OBC.

I'm not convinced it will happen...

OF COURSE I am cruising Saturday (and the following Saturday) so I could TRY at guest services/casino host if it doesn't show up.

We shall see.

I just called right now (had to change the internet from 2 devices to 3), 16mins wait if you want to try again.

I'm not convinced that the "at the time of booking" is well enforced.  I am a lowly Pearl with MLIfe but will probably hit Gold with one more trip to Vegas.  I asked the agent if I could call back once I hit Gold to update my benefits and was told, yes, by all means call back and they will change it!

I was on hold for over an hour with BCC only to be told that my cruise had to have been booked with an M Life offer to be eligible for the OBC. 😡

Thanks for sharing as first hand accounts are the most sure-fire way to obtain accurate info.  I have not seen the BCC booking requirement in writing anywhere from X

I called the 1-855-227-2537 number listed on the program webpage.  The person there (unsurprisingly) knew nothing about the program, and after a lengthy hold came back and told me to contact my TA.

The TA said it wasn't anything he was able to do, neither with his contacts at the X main desk, nor the casino club desk.

Seems to me this is yet another example (My Vegas being the other) where reservation staff are not trained on the various casino programs. Unless you get super-lucky with a rep who knows about the program, you're pooched.

My plan is just to speak to someone at the Casino Host desk when we board. If they can apply the benefits, great. If not, I'm not really missing out on something I wasn't expecting. And, I'll know for future bookings to contact the casino desk prior to pulling the trigger on any booking.

I don't believe this is true.   It's a benefit of being a M Life member.

I called the number of the website (https://www.mgmresorts.com/en/mlife-rewards-program/preferred-partners/royal-caribbean-and-celebrity-cruises.html), the lady knew right away what I was talking about and told me that Mlife has recently told them that they are only supposed to be adding this if the cruise was booked with the Mlife offer and they have been wrong to be adding it to other cruises.  That is not how I read the reference to OBC on the above website, but I could not convince her otherwise.

This does seem consistent with the statement "Members must choose at the time of booking whether to receive onboard benefits from either Captain’s Club or M life Rewards." This is what I referenced in post #2 above.

I booked with Celebrity (with a travel agent) and then called the # I have noted in an above post.  The $125 OBC was then added to the reservations.   There are 4 of us, two cabins, and we are all MGM gold and I added everyone during the same phone call.

~ If I didn't have gold through MGM and used my Celebrity Captain's Club tier to get MGM gold then I couldn't get the OBC that way.  You can only get it if you earn gold through MGM itself.

The link on the MGM website explains the benefits better than Celebrity...since it's your MGM status getting the perks on Celebrity or Royal Caribbean.
