More like 27 out 7500, +/-. The cases were over TWO cruises. Vista is expected to sail today as scheduled, as I predicted. Once again the doom and gloom false prophets were wrong.

You forgot to add the passengers that were positive last week.  If you add last week to the denominator, you should do the same with the numerator.

It doesn't really matter that there was a dividing line between 2 cruises, except the cases that debarked after the 1st cruise, which is the 4-5 you forgot add.  That's like hopping across the international date line.  Its an arbitrary demarcation of time.  And like saying a Friday case doesn't count but a Saturday case does?  A pretty significant number of crew tested positive within a few days of each other and went into isolation, far more cases than has been reported on any other ship since restart.  When this was an unconfirmed report early this week I was kind of hopeful it was a number between 2 cruises and that a chunk of them from the 1st cruise were debarked for quarantine and not present during the 2nd cruise.  But no, 27 is the number of positive cases on the ship when it rolled into foreign ports of call this week.  That's very nearly 1.5% of the crew.

Thankfully, Carnival responded appropriately to the situation by testing contact traced passengers and the entire crew, and appear to have it under control.

Sorry - testing will show if you are positive or negative,  so if you are negative you will not develop symptoms.

All cruises out of the UK are for 100% double vaccinated people, and everyone  is tested  immediately before embarkation.  Positive test - no cruise!

I thought that they were allowing under 18s on board who are not yet vaccinated in the UK.

Exactly how many passengers were positive on the ship the week before? 0? Was it a passenger who infected many casino staff?

The crew from the first week quarantined on the ship. You don't count them twice. 27 were in quarantine - we don't know how many were still positive when it "rolled" into ports, nor how many are still positive. Nevertheless, it is still over 2 weeks with most cases from the prior week and very few last week.

Of course it was and is under control and will sail again today, likely with some crew still in quarantine. You don't get to count them again this sailing.

Actually the week before 4 pax and 1 crew mid week count. And yes it is suspected a passenger brought covid onboard. Within 24 hours the precruise covid test was announced. Since the crew wasnt allowed off the ship, probably means a passenger brought it onboard. Sorry.,

After that there were crew covid tests daily thru the weekend until all crew positives found. If the crew cant get off the ship, covid came to them onboard.

The cruise the week prior to this cruise. I'd have to look up the date. Someone saw a few getting off in cozumel, not known if they were positive or got scared when carnival said they were dealing with a small outbreak. Looking back carnival was testing daily and that's why they wouldnt confirm the numbers, just said a small outbreak. Obviously there were more positive crew by last weekend.

By next week many crew should be coming out of isolation. Let's hope no more before I board vista. But yes the report we heard of 4 pax and 1 crew .. cruise before this one, same ship. Positive pax got off, crew isolated since last weekend. News was very late picking it up, but this was from week before.

Let's hope crew back to work sometime this next week and all is better.

The people who got off in Cozumel wouldn't be able to fly home if positive and I doubt they were positive.

So you are referring to the July 31st cruise and that doesn't line up with what the ambulance chaser reported. So we still don't know.

Yea there were threads posted about the positives the week before this cruise getting off today. We know they couldnt fly home. All we know is they got off with suitcases after john said they were dealing with a small outbreak. I saw a picture of a couple sitting with at least 4 suitcases in cozumel. About 10 days ago. Could have been any reason, but people saw them exit vista in cozumel with their luggage is all we know.

Lol I'm still boarding no matter what.

If those folks were positive, I don’t think they’d be sitting on a bench waiting for a ride. According to accounts of others who were disembarked after testing positive, they were accompanied by people in haz mat suits with fumigators through emptied-out passageways to a waiting car.

Maybe those were  featured entertainers who had finished a short-term contract or maybe they were regular passengers who had to leave because of an emergency at home.

Makes no sense. They would have gotten back to the US faster if they stayed on the ship.
