Received are new casino offers under our Vifp , they are still giving free rooms and drinks anywhere on the ship, plus lots of free play,

check your offers.

I saw that. I have to say I was quite surprised to see "plan now pay later" offered for another month and available for sailings out as far as Feb. 2023. If they are still paying me to sail they must still need the extreme promotions to fill the ships.

That is one thing everyone has been trying to figure out with no success. It seems just about any spending in the casino gets some kind of offer. But it seems somewhat random as to who gets the free room offers with some saying they only spent $10 in the casino years ago.

I was on the Radiance for the Feb 25th sailing. Ship was a ghost town, which is a great thing for me given covid. They told me the sailing had about ~30% capacity.

So I just checked and haven't got the incredible offer I had last week.  But we did book a cruise using that offer so the computer knows we're sailing shortly.  It'll be interesting to see what we get upon our return when our next scheduled cruise isn't until October and we're unlikely to go between now and then unless it's 'free'.

As to the 'how much gambling?' I accumulated fewer than 100 points onboard our February cruise.  I don't think I had ever gambled before on a ship as we have access at home anytime to satisfy our minimal but very occasional play.

That was me.  Now truth be told I've never had a casino offer in the past, and it looks like I only had the offer for a select few sailings that weren't selling very well, but hey, I'll take it.  I just checked my daughter's VIFP number and she's got some casino offers as well, but again only for the next month or so and only selected sailings.

Yeah, my super duper offers were only for March.  We have important travel plans the second half of the month so were only able to take advantage of a quickie early next week.  Otherwise we'd have jumped onboard a 'free' 7 day later in the month. Kinda hoping that by dropping $10 on video poker the computer graces us once again for later this Spring!

Hard question to answer.  I have gotten two or three casino offers in the past that I have never been able to use.  Candidly none of those offers came with any free play, though.

I spend a grand total of about 90-120 minutes on an entire week long trip.  I play $10 hands of blackjack and that's all I do.  Sometimes I win and sometimes I don't.

Count me in as a non-frequent Casino player. I also received some really good casino offers on trips for Feb-March 2022, and we booked one for March. We were last on a cruise in spring of 2019, and spent maybe $100 total between myself and my spouse. All at the slot machines.

A little off topic, but does anyone know how the "Drinks on Us while playing at the Casino" benefit works? So if you are sitting at a slot machine, do they have servers that come around and take your order or can you go up to the casino bar and order? Do you have to spend a min. amount in play?

No personal knowledge but have not heard anything about minimum bets and no, you can't go up to the casino bar.  As I understand it, the server takes your Folio and the slip comes back $0.  Others can confirm/clarify.

I just got emailed the offer code FVB that is $1000 in funplay, a balcony, and free drinks everywhere for me.  I used this offer on two cruises in 2021 but it was not available to me in 2022 until now.  I have already booked two 2022 cruise using a different (only $500 in funplay but the rest the same) and am now trying to see if my PVP can change it. The extra $500 on each is huge.

In re: to the Drinks on Us-in the past, I would be playing the slots, and a server would stop by to take your order. It could take a while, at times, when the casino was very busy. . Two things I learned, from my experience, was  1.) Tip well, maybe a buck or 2 for a beer, and alittle more for a mixed drink, and you get better service!, and 2.)  when you are served, order another drink, as it can take awhile, meeting CCL's criteria of waiting ??? minutes between drinks. .  (My last cruise was  8 years or so ago😢😢,  so not sure how much may have changed?)

This is a common question, but to be clear… all manner of data drives casino offer decision making…  not just spend or time in seat.
A portion of the equation certainly is $ spent - that number goes into the theoretical daily loss (TDL) and is paired with many other factors as well. There are data systems (similar to credit reporting agencies) that casino operators use to identify and target both known users and also likely spenders.
Land based casino gaming, general spending patterns, interests similar to those who game, and similar factors (that they have full access to through their participation in those databases) can all go into the incentivize / not incentivize marketing decision along with the TDL.

Both hubby and I each received the casino offer.  We chose the balcony offer.  We booked a balcony accessible cabin on the Mardi Gras for this November.  We haven't sailed on Carnival in about 5 years and do not do much gambling, so it was interesting to have received the offer, which was about the fourth free cruise offer received this year.  The total cost for both of us with taxes and fees came to about $491.  We had to give $100 deposit for each person, and they give that back to you in the form of an onboard credit.  So essentially, I am paying my own onboard credit, but it will cover the gratuities.
