Dranuc2016 Posted March 7, 2022 #1 Share Posted March 7, 2022 Queen Mary 2 is due back in New York tomorrow morning (2022-03-08) I wanted to share a Youtube live camera that I found for those in this community. Last time QM2 was here, the camera zoomed in and followed her. This also has the big advantage that you can scroll back in time about 12 hours, so you don't have to be up very early to watch live. Also available on Youtube are the three Isle of Wight webcams that many are probably already aware of: Solent View - YouTube Cowes Yachting - YouTube Appley Beach - YouTube Also with the ability to scroll back in time about 12 hours
bluemarble Posted March 7, 2022 #2 Share Posted March 7, 2022 Thanks, @Dranuc2016. This webcam guy is always happy to learn about new cruise port live streams. I hadn't found that New York City Harbor, Waterfront Museum stream.
BklynBoy8 Posted March 7, 2022 #3 Share Posted March 7, 2022 (edited) Web Cam is my game around the world especially for Port of Call. This one posted also includes many other ports of call https://www.portnywebcam.com/ The One called NY Harbor actually follows the QM2 from Brooklyn Cruise Terminal to and under the VZ Bridge. You can also follow many other ships from Manhattan and Cape Liberty. My biggest fun when the cam actually at times zooms on to deck and see the passengers very close. BklynBoy8 Posted March 7, 2022 #4 Share Posted March 7, 2022 (edited) This Web Cam is the Pier 21 that the QM2 and many other dock at when visiting Halifax on cruises. We enjoy watching many other web cams like this. Vacation by Cam https://www.novascotiawebcams.com/en/webcams/pier-21/ Also includes Marine Traffic seeing the ships approaching. Dranuc2016 Posted March 7, 2022 Author #5 Share Posted March 7, 2022 I like also those two NY webcams https://www.nyharborwebcam.com Good views of down by the bridge Follow and zooms. Also gets views of ships at Bayonne terminal. And https://www.portnywebcam.com Further up the Hudson River Good views of ships coming and going to the Manhattan terminal (including the little Queens) The only drawback is you have to watch live, you can't scroll back in time. Also have that Halifax feed Here are a couple more St John's NF http://ntv.ca/web-cams/skycam/ Reykjavik https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=V8icNPyz2jA https://www.faxafloahafnir.is/vefmyndavel-faxafloahafna/ Quebec City https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=UYCMrgERcyA

Thank you for that link. I had not found this webcam before. Rather interesting angle watching QM2 enter the harbor under the bridge.

bluemarble Posted March 9, 2022 #10 Share Posted March 9, 2022 I think QM2 was scheduled for a 5:00pm departure. She just called in to New York harbor traffic control that she is preparing to get underway.

Rare rafinmd Posted March 9, 2022 #12 Share Posted March 9, 2022 With the late departure (delayed flights) webcam apparently isn't following but she's still a pretty sight: Roy
bluemarble Posted March 9, 2022 #13 Share Posted March 9, 2022 (edited) The webcam stream which is the subject of this thread was following along for QM2's departure this evening. That stream can be rewound for up to 12 hours to watch her departure for those that missed it live. "New York City Harbor, Waterfront Museum, Brooklyn NY USA | StreamTime LIVE" at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gFTM_VqQipI I also posted a couple screen captures from that stream showing both her arrival and departure today on the "QM2 location" thread. Starboardhome Posted March 9, 2022 #14 Share Posted March 9, 2022 Returned to New York this morning after an excellent 14 day Eastern Caribbean cruise on QM2. Manhattan looked particularly fine in the early morning sunlight. So good to be back on board again after a 2 year pause.
Host Hattie Posted March 9, 2022 #15 Share Posted March 9, 2022 It's good to hear that this sailing was more successful than the Christmas cruise from New York.

Bigmike911 Posted March 9, 2022 #17 Share Posted March 9, 2022 Dranuc, Thank you for the link, and the hint about "rewinding" the feed. I was able to watch QM2 sail majestically into NY Harbor, and do her elegant pirouette to back into the dock at Red Hook. Last night, I watched her as she prepared to get underway. A giant plume of exhaust smoke indicated action was due, and at 9 pm Eastern time she sailed slowly and majestically out of the Buttermilk Channel into the main body of the harbor, and they eventually under the Verrazano Narrows bridge and out of sight. QM2 back in New York was a beautiful sight. Again thanks for the links.
