Confused lol.  Hawaii is part of the US.

To  be fair until March 26, 2022 Hawaii did have some travel restrictions when going to the Islands even from the mainland, similar to restrictions that other countries have/ had.  Since in that regard Hawaii  was similar to other countries it is not too big of a stretch to think the rules for international flights could apply.

To be fair, OP asked about coming back "into" the US.

Yes. But until a month ago, if you were unvaxxed, you needed to test in order to fly to Hawaii (which is in the US). But, I am sure you knew that.

Not sure if word has reached Arizona yet, but Hawaii in a U.S. state now, so when you are in Hawaii you actually are in the U.S.

There is no need to "get back into the US" as you will have never left.

Actually if the OP is cruising from Vancouver to Hawaii, they will have left the US. But still no test required to fly from Hawaii 😃

Weeeell...... even if they cruise from Vancouver (or Zanzibar) to Hawaii; when they arrive in Hawaii they have arrived in the U.S. There is no getting "back into the US from Hawaii" because they already are in the U.S.
