Can you please share some of the Viking evening activities?  Do they have game nights like Trivial Pursuit orName that Tune?

Also, regarding the $25 deposit, does that continue until final payment? Can you explain how that works

In our experience, the Viking ships have Trivia around Noon on sea days. They don't normally have other types of games, unless on long cruises with lots of sea days.

Evening entertainment is the standard shows performed by the 4 singers and Viking band, guest entertainers and individual shows performed by the Cruise Director and assistant. On longer cruises you may also experience solo shows from the 4 singers. You also have the resident duo, pianist and guitarist performing in various venues throughout the ship, then late evening the band in the nightclub.

Late afternoon you may have the entertainment staff performing songs to the piano in the Living Room.

Affirmative, once you have paid the deposit, the next payment is at "Payment in Full"

IME you won't see that ... Trivia ... but maybe I missed it .....

evening music was often a classical music trio of cello and violin

there IS a 'night club' .... but heck ... THAT ain't the target audience

We recently finished Viking Homelands. At least on the Star, there was a 30 minute Trivia challenge almost every night in the Explorer’s Lounge. Lots of fun and a pretty big crowd that seemed to grow as more people discovered it. It became a regular thing for us!

I remember after dinner trivia on a Med cruise on the Star in 2018 - we went 2 or 3 times.

If you have not sailed with Viking before your final payment will be due on one of two dates. If you reserve a 2022 cruise, it will be due almost immediately. If you book a cruise in 2023 or 2024 your final payment will be due on 12/31/2022. Most people pay at least a year in advance but we know people who have paid almost two full years before their cruise. Their entire amount. After you have sailed with Viking once, your final payment will be due six months before the cruise. Viking can do this because they have the most loyal customers in the world.

Caution - the six months is available if you book while on a cruise (or shortly thereafter, I believe) or if you have another cruise already booked. In either case, you must request the 6 months PIF - it's not automatic.

Simply having sailed once is not necessarily enough to get the 6 month PIF.

I agree - Viking does this because they can - in their position, I would as well. 🍺🥌

Your Guest Statement will tell you exactly what date your final payment is due.  The final payment due date that others have been assigned - 1 week, 6 months, 1 year, 2 years - is irrelevent.

It is very important to read the Guest Statement before making the initial deposit and especially to check the date of the final payment. Once you make your deposit, your final payment date is set in stone; you have agreed to the contract and Viking rarely renegotiates them.  If you are going to try to negotiate a different final payment date, it must be done before you make your deposit.

You are absolutely right!  LOL.  We took our first cruise ever with Viking at the recommendation of friends.  They were already booked and set the contract up for us getting our stateroom, SSP and having the agent send us the email with all the details.  We trusted them and put the deposit down without reading anything at all but the total cost.  Since then I read the Guest Statement, Passenger Ticket Contract, Terms & Conditions etc.  I was surprised at some of the things I learned.
