Princess booking hotel ???

We always fly in the day of departure. Have never had a problem. But that seems really risky these days. We'll be flying into Barcelona in Nov., 2023. If you've used Princess to book your hotel could you share your experience? Cost? Will Princess transfer fetch us at the hotel? Thanks for any info & input. 🙂

Here are the hotels Princess uses.

Yes - Princess will pick you up at airport (usually a town car of some sort) and then there will be a bus that takes you from the hotel to the ship included in the cost.

The cost is usually per person. Double check the cost with your travel advisor.

The benefits are that your luggage and transfers both ways are taken care of.

The downside is that you are paying for each person.

Compare transfers to hotel and back to airport.  Compare standard hotel rack rates.  Do your math homework.

Then decide which is more important to you.  Convenience or cost.

Be aware that if the cost of the room is $200.00 a night both will be charged for the room or $400.00.  Where if you booked other than Princess it would only be the $200.00.

Not exactly, but it is more expensive with the Princess hotel. If you stay a second night the rate per person for that night is lower. The longer you stay the closer the amount becomes to self booking.

Barcelona is one of the easiest airports to do it yourself.  It is only about 20 mins from Airport to centre of Barcelona and will cost approx 40 Euro.  Again from the centre to the cruise port is a very short journey and will not be expensive.  Hotels can be very expensive or reasonable...all depends on what you are looking for.  We have stayed in Le Meridien which is a few steps away from Las Ramblas but have also stayed in one a lot cheaper.

There are many hotels in Barcelona at all different ptice ponts

I'd just us Trip Advisormor booking dot com to see a map and read reviews

In addition to taxi fro. The airport there is an express bus that is also easy to use

I'd never allow Princess to book a hotel for me there!

When you check in, be sure to tell the desk clerk that you want them to order you a cab for time and day that you want to go to the cruise port..  If you wait until you are checking out you just might find out that the entire hotel is doing the same.  When we were there the port had 8 cruise ships in port that day.  Only people with pre reserved cabs were guaranteed  a cab.  Our hotel was telling people that they would put them on a list and if a free cab driver walked in, they would call the top of the list.

Enjoy Barcelona, great city to visit.
