Hi everyone!

When getting rated by the pit boss at the roulette tables, does the pit boss look at what you bet or just the size of your bets ie does it make a difference if you bet $50 on red/black vs $25 each on Red AND Black?

If you are talking about using promotional chips you can't use them on the "outside" i.e. Red/Black, Odds/Evens etc.

If you bet equal amounts and red and black, the best you can do is break even, and whenever green comes up you will lose both bets.

And it’s still a -5.26% house advantage no matter what you bet.  Unless there are 3 zeros and then it is worse… -7.89%

Celebrity does have single zero roulette on some ships. I am constantly amazed when the single zero table and double zero tables are both open how many more people are sitting at the double zero table. Single zero is one of the best bets in the casino as opposed to double zero which is the worst.

On a recent Princess cruise I saw a zero, double zero and a "princess" creating 39 possibilities

Typically the single zeros have a higher minimum bet.

Princess is the worst.  However, the roulette table on their new ship Discovery Princess is top of the line.  Every possible win lights up on the table after every spin.  Higher house advantage = better technology.. lol

I believe you will be rated based on what you risk at play, not what you bet.  Meaning cashing in $200 at the start of your session gets you higher rating than $100.  How much time you spend may be a factor too.

The pit boss always takes my card and inputs data knowing what I cashed in, but never watches how much I bet.   Please correct or clarify if I'm mistaken.

If you can get them to open no-commission Baccarat, usually you can if you and your significant other will offer to play at $100/hand, that will be your best odds.  You bet on the Banker and another person the Player.  If you tie you push, if the banker wins with a 6 you only get paid half/1:2 but since you don't pay commission on banker wins, the odds are nearly identical as commission/midi/mini versions.

I would be VERY happy to play single zero roulette at higher denom especially if i can cover my bets……

So here’s my rationale - I’m trying to churn casino points / casino spend while minimizing downside volatility to my bankroll. I’m not looking to win money from the casino - I’m looking to make it back from the comps (cruises/drinks) I get from the play…….

That’s a great idea! Didn’t know that no-commission Baccarat is even possible!

I just did on the 8-31 Summit cruise.  I used OBC to buy chips(if you consider those promotional) then bet either red/black, even/0dd or 1-18/19-36.  All required a $5 minimum bet.

Ha, the first time I've ever won in a casino.  I started with about $1200, and walked out with $1400.

You're not going to get much points at all from playing roulette. Table games in general won't get you the points. It's all about the slots. It's the same in land based casinos.

The pit boss is looking soley what you're average bet is on the roulette table;how and/or what you're betting is irrelevant.

When you step up to the table give your card to the pit boss and for the next 3 spins bet bigger. The pit boss will then enter into the computer your average bet per spin. Then you can lower your bet. Subsequently whenever you see the pit boss checking the roulette table you raise you bet.

Also it depends IF the pitboss even pays attention to the table you're at.  If the roulette table has players only betting the minimums but in his pit area of responsibility you have another table with folks betting hundreds a hand, pitboss may only offer your table an occasional glance

I just can’t bring myself to play slots unless it is VP…….I can’t stand the possibility of losing 15-20% of my bankroll……

That's fine, you should play the games you enjoy. But don't expect to accumulate alot of points and move up tiers in the BCC. If that's your gambling style you're better off on Carnival. Their casino program doesn't have transparent player tiers and their comped cruises are easier to come by. Or you should go to the 3rd party Cruise Casino hosting company URcomped.com and work with them on getting comped cruises based on your style of gambling.

Yeah I’m already getting a free Celebrity cruise through URComped. Just trying to figure out the most effective way to continue getting comps / cruises through URComped and also the cruise lines.
