Sorry to hear Mr HH has been confined to cabin for most of your cruise.
We have enjoyed your regular updates and will also be onboard QV on the 30th.
As it is Roaring Twenties formal night have many passengers dressed wearing outfits from that era?

To be fair, we managed the first 7 days so not quite most

Lots of flapper style dresses and headdresses, not so much effort from the men.

I was welcomed back to the dining room by everyone but there seem to be a lot of empty tables around. I had Lobster tail as a starter (& was offered a second) and Beef Wellington for mains. Our sommelier served a glass of Sancerre and then Rioja so I was very well looked after. I was tempted by the Dark Chocolate Mousse but it was  Baked Alaska night after all !

I don't usually go to the production shows but Top Hat was fabulous when we saw it's second ever production so I hope it's worth a repeat viewing.

I had the Seafood platter and a glass of champagne in the Chart Room. I do like their small plates and I figured it would be a shorter walk of shame if my cruise card flashed up some sort of warning message. All passed off peacefully and I'm on Deck 10 catching the last of the sun I'll be seeing for a while !

Oh my word these look divine! Are they free for all or just certain staterooms? I’m asking as a total newbie who is booked on QV in QG in 2024 and just planning ahead!

And you did have the chocolate thingy for lunch. 😀

I enjoyed Top Hat second time around and then came back to the cabin. The Captain had mentioned that the wind was forecast to increase tonight and the exits to the Promenade Deck by the theatre were closed off. We were moving around a little and I was rocked to sleep.

Are you in for a treat!

I have a seafood platter occasionally, for lunch, in the restaurant.

Lobster tail salad, the salad fixings of my own dictate, boringly, many times a week, interspersed with sushi or ceviche..

yum yum.

However, the chocolate thingy does nothing for me at all so I would have to have more lobster, to compensate!!

Mr HH is free and it's another glorious day at sea.

As he had the sun again today we used his balcony until we were evicted and came back to the Chart Room for another light lunch.

I am sure Mr. HH will be rewarded by both you and the angels for his decency and self sacrifice. It is a shame there is so little cruise left.

@Host Hattie I sure hope you will posting more of those food porn pics!  I would like to see @Victoria2 ‘s lobster salad. I think I could do the lobster salad with a glass of white wine, and the chocolate cake with a pinot. Ideally it would be followed by a nap in filtered sun with a book resting in my lap. 63 days until we board.

Next time I'm on QV, I'll take a photo. It's a bit out of my comfort zone as I'm not a food photo fan but I'll make an exception.

All I can say - OK, shout it - is I lost 2lbs on the trip and I'm sure a good part of it was down to no puds apart from one evening when we ordered  Crepes, and my salad concoctions. 🙂

@Host Hattie - hope you and Mr HH have a splendid last night on board.  Thank you for posting so many updates on this thread. So sorry the cruise didn’t pan out the way you were hoping but fingers crossed for you that you’ll both be aboard again soon and you have better luck. You certainly deserve it!

After lunch in the Chart Room we had a few hours in the sun around the Pavilion Pool. The pool was netted and spilling water at regular intervals. The ship wasn't moving that much so it made me wish I'd concentrated a bit more in Fluid Dynamics lectures!

There was an unpleasant smell in the Winter Garden, I did wonder if it was a Covid test, anyone who didn't wrinkle their nose was in need of a test.

Disembarkation information had arrived so we packed our big cases.

We've also had confirmation of Mr HH's test result and isolation dates for our insurance claim.

We went to the Commodore Club for just after 6, it was very quiet. Mr HH enjoyed his first proper beer in a week and I had a QE2 cocktail.

When I thought tonight was the only night I was going to be able to eat outside the cabin I'd booked the Verandah for dinner. It was a great way to celebrate being reunited. (See above!).

@Host Hattie We had not planned to have dinner in the Verandah since we’re in QG, but that is one spectacular seafood platter. Is lunch an option and if so, do they serve that platter? As for the dessert — strawberry pavlova? @Lanky Lad Not worth the calories, isn’t that correct @Victoria2? Where’s the chocolate?

It really is about time they changed the menu, as the strawberry pav has been served for years!

Have a safe trip home HH. We will be boarding later today, and I will try and match your dialogue.
Thanks for the time you spent keeping us informed.

It was "Party Night" in the Queens Room, there were lots of people leaving as we got there so we'd obviously just missed the first set. The  DJ got people up and dancing (not us) until Remixed came back for their second set. I hadn't seen their show in the theatre but they were fun and it was a good way to finish the trip.

We're currently waiting to be told we can leave. Our instructions were it would be between 9.30 & 10 but we're ready just in case.
