We took the included intransit tour to Cascais and Sintra this morning instead of either sitting in the Panorama for three hours while the suites were sanitised or walking out in the blustery conditions. We didn’t manage to find Fernando, although we did like Cascais. Sintra was altogether too busy. Dinner in Atlantide produced our first fail, a Green Thai Chicken curry that was returned. Too much potatoes, thin sauce with no or very little coconut, dry chicken and rather bland. It looked like the BBC recipe rather than a real one. Forced myself to eat a medium rare fillet instead, which came within 5 mins. All the other food on the segment just completed was good to excellent. 1

Rare Silver Spectre Posted October 18, 2022 Author #11 Share Posted October 18, 2022 Heading out of Lisbon into roughish weather, 12 to 15’ waves and 30 to 40 knots of wind, getting worse tomorrow and tomorrow night. The Captain is modifying our course to try and avoid 30’ waves tomorrow.
Rare Silver Spectre Posted October 19, 2022 Author #12 Share Posted October 19, 2022 (edited) It was a bit bumpy last night, particularly around 2am, but nothing to worry about. It’s cloudy with some sun breaking through and the swell looks about 8 to 10’. There has been a major change in masking policy from yesterday, crew do not have to wear masks outside and there seems to be some other relaxation depending on crew position. Bar staff and wait staff still have to wear them in public. Masks are no longer required for crew in the crew areas. Guest masking requirements have not changed for this voyage. The Voices may now dine with guests. There has been no formal announcement made by anyone. Edited October 19, 2022 by Silver Spectre 1
rosepark Posted October 19, 2022 #13 Share Posted October 19, 2022 Lumpity bumpity bump. Afternoon all. It is indeed a tad lumpy atm but at least we can tell we are on the high seas. Cap’n says it is going to get a bit more interesting this evening. I may have to ditch the high heels for formal night. First trivia this morning with a second one this afternoon - not sure the brain cell can cope with a double dose. Rp

We had swells of 25 to 30’ but the ship is handling it well. It was worse again in the middle of the night. Rare Silver Spectre Posted October 20, 2022 Author #22 Share Posted October 20, 2022 (edited) The Captain updated us at noon on our projected arrival at Horta. We are now likely to be docked at midday instead of at 8am and the weather should improve later. We have 322 Venetians and about 170 newbies onboard.
