Do many people dress up for formal night on Alaskan cruises?  We’re doing a 6 night land tour before embarking and I really want to fit everything into one suitcase.  I know we can always go to the Oceanview, but we enjoy the dining room.

There are no formal nights on Celebrity. They have been replaced by Evening Chic. Pretty much you can wear the same as you wear on other nights. You won’t need to pack extra. Look up Evening Chic on Celebrity’s website.

Although we live in Alaska we have a done a number of Alaska itineraries.  Alaska itineraries are consistently less dressy than other itineraries.  We did B2B Alaska cruises last June.  My husband did pack a sports jacket.  I wore nice black slacks and sparkly tops on the "evening chic" nights.
