NS Verandah Cabin - Storage?

I was looking at photos on HALfacts and noticed that there is what appears to be a couple of cabinets above the loveseats. Are they in fact cabinets or ? Maybe some type of pull down bed?

As I recall those were for our life vests but there are two big drawers in the bed frame  - which we didn't know about until after we left the ship.

@Sea42If in fact the life vests are there, that will open up shelving in the closets. Win-win either way.

That was/is a fact on ms Konngsdam and ms Rotterdam, so it seems to mee it will be the same on ms.s. Nieuw Statendam.

I’m presently in a verandah cabin on the NS. Here is a photo of the opened cabinets above the loveseat. On the left are life jackets, on the right blankets.

Could the life jackets and blankets be removed from the overhead and put in the drawer underneath the bed?  I am tall and would love to keep my heavier tops (going to the Fjords) above the sofa for easy reaching.  The Solstice class on Celebrity ships have similar cabinets.  DH and I both liked being able to use them for clothes.

We toss our suitcases under the bed and use them for dirty clothes storage.

Not a problem... we plan to relocate both so that my tall DH can use these cabinets during our 35 nights on the K'dam.

We take a pop-up hamper that will fit perfectly in the area between the bedside table and the bathroom wall.
