Other than perhaps being able to cut the self-assist line, which can be quite lengthy sometimes.

I had the Key and Suite departed self-assist and asked and was not given the option to cut the line on Freedom back in May.. I had plenty of time before my flight so it wasn't an issue.

Do you mean suite, pinnacle, and key guests proceed to the front of the self disembarkation line?  I have seen the line get very long!

On Freedom 08/2022 with The Key, and after MDR breakfast walked up to an employee assisting with disembarkation, we showed seapass with Key and they escorted us to front of line.

I was on the Allure in October with the Key.  I was told I had to go with the non Suite guests.  I still haven't recovered from that trauma (;))  It was all good though as we were out quickly.  But I was surprised as I was under the impression there was a separate line.  First timer with the Key.  I'd probably get it again if I was on the Oasis and Quantum class and no suite.  I enjoyed the perks.

Same with us on Symphony a couple of weeks ago. I bit disappointing as the line to leave was huge and slow.

We were on Serenade last week and were told suite guests had to meet in the dining room by 8:10am to be walked off. Around 7:45am on our way there they announced walk-offs, suite guests, and Key guests were welcome to leave the ship. The luggage areas were marked appropriately.

This is what they told us to do on Liberty in September. NOT a good thing.....almost started a riot.

Oh geez…did they have the key and suite members meet in one place or were you told to just go to the front of the line?  That wouldn’t be cool.

I purchased the key and i see one of the benfits is:

  • On debarkation day, enjoy an exclusive á la carte breakfast and choice departure

Am I able to leave any time I want?  During self disembarkation or any time they are calling group numbers?  I wasn't sure how it worked.

We just got off the Anthem. For this sailing:
The breakfast was in the Chic dining room on deck 3 from 6.30 am to 8 am. No crowds to battle since it was only for the Key.

You could disembark any time if you had luggage assistance: that is they take your bags the night before and you collect it in the terminal. They will give you a Key tag instead of a number unless you request one.
After breakfast we were asked to come to Bolero's where we were escorted out immediately by a representative holding a Key sign. It was a separate line (probably the suites line) and there were perhaps 2 people in it at that time.

On embarkation the lunch was also in the Chic dining room with a limited Chops menu. I found it pretty good, and no dodging people with full plates like in the buffet.

They collected our hand luggage at lunch chek in and they were in our cabin when we went up.

A small fruit basket was in our cabin  with a card that said "For our Key Passengers''.

They did check us in and board us in the Suite line. There were not many people in the line/suite area. We boarded around noon.

Hope I answered your questions.

There are other places/activities where suites/Key get to cut the line - it's an official perk which you can use at your own peril.

that's a good way of putting it. Use at your own peril because most people have no idea why you get on first or skip to the front of the line LOL

We were instructed to go to the regular self assist area and when debarking starts to just walk to the front of the line. We thought that there would be a staff member directing things...but NOOOOO...not a good thing!!

Wow and that puts you in an awkward spot too. I'm sure those folks in front got there pretty early to be first one off. Definitely awkward.

It sounds like Royal doesn't have a standard for all ships. That's not good.

But those that have cruised Royal should know what's going on. They might not like it but it's a perk available to everyone. It's up to you whether you want to pay for it or not.

Paying extra is no different than Disney's genie+ or some of the amusement parks where you pay extra to be able to go to the front of the line for the more popular rides.
