Casino play with Non-Refundable OBC

We are currently on the Enchanted and we have quite a large non-refundable balance on our OBC.  I have read of people using it to play in the casino and getting it cashed out.  I know NOTHING about playing in the casino or how any of that works.  Could someone please walk me through the steps?  I was told I play with my medallion, but will it use my non-refundable credits first?  How do I get it cashed out?   Thank you!

You go to the casino and have the credits loaded onto your medallion.   You need to bet all of the OBC $$.  You can cash out any winnings.

I suggest you speak with someone in the casino and they can walk you through exactly what to do.  There are several steps.

Yes, on a slot machine you will use the OBC credits first (you need to keep count).  The casino cashier will pay your winnings in cash.

You can play table games, but those game rules would make that harder for you

I have gone to slot machines. Load maybe $200 into machine from your account. Do 1 pull. Cash out. Take receipt to cashier. Voila!!!

I do t do more that $200/night. Did it with no -refundable OBC many times.

@wrongwaywatson Here’s how you do it:

Go to a slot machine and create an account - easy to do:  touch medallion to medallion sensor on machine. You will be prompted to set up account and will Select preferred language, enter birthdate and four digit pin.  Now you are ready to play.  You will see an area where you can get credits by charging to your ship board account.  Select that, enter amount, enter pin to confirm.   The credits will then be loaded to machine.  When you are ready to cash out, select that option and the credits will be loaded to your medallion.  You will see the credit on the screen drop to zero and get a message saying credits have been successfully transferred back to your medallion. You then go to the cashier and ask to cash out.

Early in the cruise I load it all into a slot machine account. (It's easy, just put your medallion on "the spot" and follow the prompts. You will need to select a PIN. Make it easy to remember. Then I play a little bit every day or two on a slot machine. I don't get wild because I don't find it "fun" or "interesting" or whatever the proper adjectives are. By the end of the cruise I have usually lost from $100 to $200 in this manner. (Hey, it's not really money I've provided and there is always the chance I might win.) If it's not a round trip Alaska out of Vancouver I cash out the last night before disembarkation. If it is a round trip Alaska out of Vancouver I have to cash out 2 days before disembarkation as they close the casino the last night before disembarkation. (I learned this the hard way. I had $750 in the casino account that I couldn't get out. I had to wait a month or so for them to send me a check. Sadly, I had counted on that cash for tips to our steward, dining room staff, and bartenders. Instead, I had zero cash on hand.

Notes: When charging casino play to your on board account you must play. If you do not play your casino account will be locked. You can not use the casino as an ATM.

Slots?

Go to any slot. Using your medallion set up and account, password. Select an amount you wish to play and charge to you on board account, example $100. Play for a while. When finished push the cash out button. The amount remaining, could be more or less than the initial amount, will be placed into your casino account. When you are finished playing take your medallion to the casino cashier and they will give you cash. You can do this every time you play or at the end of the cruise before the final cash out time, usually the last evening, but not always.

Table games?

Place your medallion on the table. Ask for the amount you want, example $100, to be charged to your on board account. The dealer will provide you with cash value chips. Play. When you are ready to leave have the dealer trade your low value chips for higher value ones. Take your chips with you. Bring the chips to the casino cashier and they will give you cash. Again you can do this each time you play or at the end of the cruise.

Thank you, all!  @skynight, I did play slots.  Actually, I loaded my money onto my account, pushed the button and won $24   I tried to cash it in, but they said it wasn't in my account, it must still be on the machine.  (I actually noticed it seemed to be having issues when I tried to cash out, so I left my husband and brother in law at the machine).  When the casino employee came by to help me, because I reported that it wasn't working correctly, he said "you are in the middle of a game, you got a bonus."  I needed to push some buttons to try to match them.  I pushed several and I ended up winning more money, LOL  I was up about $64 from the one slot play, LOL

So, thank you, all!

I did the same thing. I won 5 free spins. I couldn't cash it out until I played my 5 free spins.
