We are on Coral Princess and have just been told due to NZ MaritimeBoard authorities  wanting to do a clean (divers) we will miss the fjordland cruising and Dunedin (Port Chalmers)

Yes its a internal check / reset /replacement . Probably a $5 sensor gone bad

I would be very surprised if Royal cancelled the next cruise.

If not fixed Royal would still run but cut a few ports out of the schedule I believe.

Organising replacement ports wouldn’t be easy at short notice in the Christmas New Year week. New Zealand has a lot of issues trying to get bus drivers for the port visits.

Gbenjo I rest my case! What can we say! BTW I really don’t think there are many complaints. We have been well looked after and also compensated and informed by the Captain.

I guess it doesn't matter, as long as borderforce are very thorough with their search methods.

A couple of changes on RC .

 The first I have only been told by my sister , so not first hand.

Crown and Anchor will match your travelling companion to your status for a cruise.

She is diamond and tried to link her boyfriend ( platinum) for 30 years to her account. The LA said they don’t do that anymore but as a travelling companion she can link him for the cruise.
They have to be a member of C&A and completed one cruise. plus be in the same cabin.
He got a new card with diamond on it ,had 4 free drinks daily, got the discounts ,it opened the diamond lounge door and even got the $5 promo in the casino.

Next cruise just a week later ,back to Platinum,they went to the LA and same thing ,only for the cruise.
A couple of weeks later ,she went with her girlfriend who was gold .they went to the LA and girlfriend was bumped up to Diamond for the cruise.
 

 

The second thing,apparently 1st January free chat via the app !

You can ask your kids where they are ,chat to your friends, ect

There may be some news coming. Ovation still shows as 6:45 departure on Sydney Ports cruise page, but has disappeared from the daily movement page - suggesting that departure time could be up in the air.

Thanks.  Unfortunately, due to sickness we are no longer able to go.  Devastated, was looking forward to this trip for many months.  Even though the sickness is due to COVID, RCL in defiance of their own policy are refusing to cancel the booking and provide a future cruise credit, they want us to use our travel insurance. What is also annoying is that the insurance has a $500 excess.

 

Pretty unfair that we have to claim on insurance because RC has decided to go against their own policy.  I'll certainly be asking RCL to add an additional credit to cover the excess.

Announcements now asking people to hurry and complete muster so can leave on time.
