Low calorie and low car desserts

Does Viking serve any low carb or low calorie desserts for diabetics, besides fruit?

There’s ice cream with artificial sweetener if I recall. You can also designate your dietary preferences in MVJ and there’s a checkbox for “diabetic.”

I seem to remember seeing 1 or 2 options for low/no sugar options.

I eat low carb and if you check the box that Linda above indicated, they will send daily menus to your stateroom.

I did this but was wondering what the low carb desserts were. Often the no sugar desserts are worse for diabetics and have as many carbs as their sugar counterparts.

The only low carb dessert I had was the sugarless ice cream.  But they will probably come up with something for you, especially if you do what MSEm suggested and talk to the chef or your server.

Dining room manager talked daily with our SIL about his special dietary needs. Viking does a great job in this area.

While not low carb I presume, the “no sugar added” cookies and ice cream are usually very tasty. We always try the various flavors.

Can you give us some examples of low carb desserts? Except for some fruits I’m not coming up with any ideas here.

Be sure to note your medical info on My Viking.  Once on board, talk to the chef.  I’m sure they’ll come up with some great desserts for you to enjoy.  In my experience, Viking staff members go out of their way to accommodate the passengers.

Even more help to me would be the carbohydrate listing for the foods. Do you know if such a list is available.

Low carb desserts- that’s a tough one. Other than berries, all fruits are high in carbs. No sugar added desserts are still high in carbs. Berries with whipped cream is a good bet. My go to is a cheese plate.
