I spent the night there.  Not sure how much I slept.

Roy

I hope you are feeling a lot better Roy @rafinmd.

San Francisco airport was one of the worst international airports we have flown from.

The food offerings were almost non existent and the lack of shops was very noticeable.

Take care.

Graham.

No testing or registration fee now. The reason was high winds. The navigable channel into the harbor is narrow, and ships as tall as this are vulnerable.

Thanks for the clarification. Glad Bermuda did away with the entrance fee and their whole testing and Authorization process. It was not easy.   Sorry about missing the main port of your cruise! The forecast must have been both bad and high confidence for them to announce the change so early. At least you are out of the polar vortex!  Enjoy!

When we were on the Koningsdam October 2021 we sailed in very early, stayed overnight and sailed away late.

This was where we docked and our view from our verandah.

We had a tour that afternoon and planned an early dim sum lunch at Yank Sing. Unfortunately we went when they had strict covid protocols and there wasn’t a trolley but we really enjoyed the food.  Honey walnut shrimp:

Some kind of siu mai, I think shrimp:

A favorite of mine, turnip cake (did you know that there are no turnips?  It’s made with daikon radish):

Our tour to Muir Woods was lovely but short. I would have loved more time there.

After Muir Woods we went to Sausalito but I don’t have any pictures. I think Craig took some.

It was a nice day with great scenery. I’m going to post the pictures from the next day separately.

Finally got a chance to sit down and take a break.

Everything on my list is packed, plus some. 😆 Had to play Tetris to make it all fit and will end up checking 2 bags. Oh well, I’d rather pay the fee than wish I had brought something I “needed.”

You have an awfully early start tomorrow.  Hoping you can still enjoy your travel day and wishing you very safe travels and a Big Bon Voyage 🙂

We didn't have mail delivery the past three days as far as I can tell, but then, I didn't try to make it to the mailboxes. I saw the USPS drive by this morning.

We've thawed out, and finally DH's fancy rain gauge registered some of the sleet and rain this week.  My old fashioned rain gauge showed 3/10s of an inch.

Our older DD finally got their power back late this morning, but at that time the other DD was still without power.

Lenda

Oh my, I hope your DD’s are not in the midst of the polar vortex.  It’s too cold to be without power 😬 BRRRR

The next day we had a Sonoma wine country tour. We had fun with Maxine @AncientWanderer and her DH and Jane @lazey1.

We we went to several wineries and stopped in the town of Sonoma for some free time. Craig and I ate here:

Craig had a Negroni and I had wine, I guess I hadn’t had enough earlier.

Quiche for me and mussels for Craig.

I took this that evening during sail away. The Ghirardelli sign is in the middle window.

Ran several errands, made spaghetti (so DH has a few meals), and going to bed early so I can be up at 3am. 😴

Thank you all for caring and sharing. 🥰  Prayers 🙏 for everyone who needs them.  Cheers 🥳 for all the celebrations.

Safe travels tomorrow.  I don't envy the early trip to the airport.  We've been there, done that.  BON VOYAGE!

DD is in Austin, and it is warming up some.  She may have power now, but hasn't let us know.

We woke to the news that DSIL passed very early this morning. My DH said about his only remaining sibling, "I'm not surprised, but I wasn't ready to hear it."

After so many health challenges, my DSIL is blessedly now at peace. Thank you all for your continued prayers over these past months,

-Melisa

My deepest condolences.  Even when expected, it's difficult to hear.  I glad your DSIL has peace.
