What facts do you have to make such a statement?

It is not possible to just accidentally fall of a cruise ship. You have to do something reckless, something deliberate, or be pushed/thrown/murdered.

News reports make it seem like everyone on a cruise is in danger of randomly falling off the ship.

So my question is…are you enjoying your cruise?

Cuz it kinda seems like you aren’t, based on all the complaints.

Am I complaining a lot?

We're having a good time.

I think I mentioned early on, that I planned to be a bit critical and honest because there's so little information on Luminosa

If y'all think I am just complaining to much, I can stop end the thread here.

Let me know.

Clocks change again tonight, forward one hour.

All aboard at 10:30

This is an interesting statement. Unless things have drastically changed post COVID Honolulu USED to be a place where everything stayed open late. In fact you used to be able to shop until midnight on a Sunday. There were always constant mobs of tourists in the shops and restaurants.  I'm very surprised to hear that everything closed up at 8pm?That's never how it used to be.

Think I may have an answer for you. Tour guide today mentioned that before Covid, the shops and restaurants in and around the cruise terminal were very busy, but they couldnt survive the shutdowns and never came back. It is now part of (I think it's called) Hawaii Pacific University.

Only other things in the whole terminal is a small convenience store and a Spaghetti Factory restaurant.

That's it

DO not want to steal the thread, but my view would be it is impossible to ”fall” off a ship.  Either someone did it willingly OR made a poor choice doe to other factors (putting oneself in a position where something like this can occur.  In all these events that occurred, I have mot seen a single instance of a fall, unless someone out themself in a position they were not supposed to be in.

@EngIceDave not even sure where the comment came from about complaints. I am not picking up that at all. I appreciate your complete and balanced comments about each step of your epic voyage.

Also glad to see the deets on essentially the last of the Farcas Spirit class ships come home to the Mother brand. Lotta grumbling over the years about the wildness but new ships, while beautiful and sleek, have no character or chutzpah.

Even more than the food pics I am loving the mdr menus, because CCL 7 day trips have nearly identical menus for every ship (minor additions and subtractions per vessel). That’s fine but seeing the extra completely new and different menus for the longer sailing is truly a rare treat.

I’m sure the comment was well intended but you are giving me a positive vibe and both you and wife seem to be holding up remarkably well over a very very long journey away from home.

I appreciate a report of both negative and positive.  I didn't think you were complaining at all.

I agree. Whenever I look at any 5* reviews about anything I pretty much ignore the 5's and the 1's and concentrate on the middle numbers. Nothing is perfect and nothing is usually that bad or you'd be reading a lot more about it everywhere if it was.

I feel that way about reports of a whole cruise with "inedible" food. I suppose it's possible but I have taken some cheapo cruises and even the worst food has always been "edible."

Unless a total food snob or a food critic, how good it is can be somewhat objective. I thought the lasagna the other night was odd. Too much meat, little cheese, so it just tasted mostly like a lot of burger with a little sauce and cheese and their odd béchamel

Others loved it

It's all "edible," just it's not high quality or in many instances, authentic.

Cruises tend to be filled with people who think that its all about the volume of food or drink consumed no matter what the quality, and people that think that everything should be nothing but the highest quality based on their own interpretation of what that is. I just eat and drink when I'm on a cruise because sustaining life requires it.🙂

I’m neither of those extremes but more the (nearly) any meal I don’t have to prep, cook, and clean up is a treat.

OP, I appreciate your honest opinions.  On this long of a trip, there are going to be issues.  Like long lines and food you don’t like.  But your overall enjoyment is shining through.  What an amazing trip!

MENU DUMP

Went back in the app, day 1 to Papeete for menus for you all

Knowing how photo uploading has gone so far, I can hope they stay in order, but I don't have high hopes.

You may have to do some piecing together
