I agree with most of this except needing to put yourself out there on the www.  I do have players cards at multiple land based casinos but other than that, zero social media presence.  And I get more casino offers than I can take up to free suite with DOE and fun play.

Your high status at land casinos is sufficient but many readers aren't so they need to get noticed other ways.

Nope, how you booked makes no difference on whether you get casino deals.  It isn't Carnival sending out casino deals. It is Ocean Players Club, a separate entity.  The casino dept isn't marketing to cruisers, they are marketing to gamblers.  Different demographic with some overlap.

Oceans Players Club is owned by Carnival Corporation.  The two are not functionally separate entities.  The idea that Oceans Players Club "doesn't market to cruisers"  and doesn't coordinate with the various cruise lines under the Carnival umbrella doesn't make sense either.

In my situation, I think it is more than coincidence that I stopped booking full fare (like "early saver") rates post-COVID --  and now continue to get casino offers on Carnival, Holland America, and Princess.    But clearly you and I are on entirely separate wavelengths, so I am done with this thread.

Does Las Vegas send free room offers to locals?  Ocean Players Club covers all CCL lines.

Nope, I always have 2-3 cruises booked and I get casino related offers constantly.  Those who "never" get an offer have most likely opted out of receiving offers or aren't looking in the right place.  My newbie friends who did spend only $20 a day on a five day cruise  (her daughter who HATES casinos held the pocketbook) in the casino is getting casino offers.

Now I feel slighted, lol.  🙂

I used to receive casino offers on carnival.com under my VIFP account, but haven't seen one in ages.  The last two offers for free cruises we received came via email a few days after our cruises.

Do you have players cards at land casino, especially MGM?  If yes, have you registered them at Ocean Players "FunMatch" link?

same overall Company. Yes.

but from what I’ve read here they operate separately. Like the casino essentially covers the cost of the drink package when they offer the “drinks on us anywhere”. It’s different customer service.

We do and we go to Vegas a few times a year.  Was not aware of the FunMatch link so will definitely look into it.  Thanks!

Since MGM is teaming up with Carnival for sports betting, they are targeting MGM Rewards players

Yes, they do and the closer they get to the sports betting opening, the more they will be marketing to MGM Rewards members.  They get bettors onboard, they don't need to worry about gamblers switching casinos.

Carnival corp. okayed the premise of sports gambling last June, and Princess was to be the cruise line to first offer it.  Apparently, something is causing a delay.  Perhaps, they'll have to expand some of the dedicated sports bars if they finally get around to it.

I know that I use to utilize our Royal Diamond tier to, annually, switch my MGM card to Platinum. I think they changed the terms on that a few years ago though - so it now only matches to the next tier down - and thus losing the best perk of Platinum MGM: special line for taxis...

Having said that, it's easily been 10 years since I ventured out to Sin City.

Greetings. I receive some casino offers mostly for DOU in the casino and a small OBC. It sounds like some cruisers get better casino offers like free inside cabins. Has anyone seen their casino offers improve over time? I am wondering if the Players Club will increase your status based on your casino play or do you always stay the same status? Thanks.

Generally, yes, the more you play - the more they'll offer. Though how far down the road you'll see those offers is unknown - same with how much more play it would take, and what they'll offer up. What happens behind their curtain is a bit of a mystery.

Seems there would be a ton of training involved unless all betting will be on a kiosk plus adding some type of viewing.  Don't sport bettors always want to watch what sport they are betting on? The sports bet areas I have seen show many events at once and I didn't think the ships could get the coverage.

RCL ships with Playmakers sports bar show just about every NFL game on Sunday, which packs the house, to go along with all other nationally televised NFL games.  They also show an ample amount of college football as well as most other major sports.

Do they show horse racing, soccer, golf, basketball, track?  I swear some of the sport betting places in Las Vegas show sports I have never heard of but people are focused on those screens.

Don't know about horse racing, but wouldn't be surprised if they had the Kentucky Derby this Saturday.  Never noticed if track has been shown.  Carnival used to show more, including on the stateroom TVs.  But those offerings have been diminished.   Plus, the newer ship builds have much smaller sports viewing venues.

Carnival shows college and NFL games on multiple TVs all around the ship, just not in your stateroom. The issue is the other sports are only shown if they are on ESPN or ESPN international.  NFL games are not an issue on Carnival.
