Pillows

We are new to Oceania and are cruising in about 3 weeks. Unfortunately the feather and hypoallergenic pillows do not provide enough support, we can bring ours from home but they are quite heavy. At home we use a foam pillow like the one below. Can anyone tell me if these are available onboard?

Thanks

I know they have several different types of pillows available but have never checked as the provided pillows work for us.....agree that contacting special services would be the best answer...

My wife has similar requirements.  I would take a photo of the pillow with you for the room attendant.  I’m pretty sure they do have that type.  There is a lot of choice as to type that you can chose.  You could ask onborardservices prior to your cruise.  They might know or be able to ask the ship staff directly.

My recollection is that there are a number of different types of pillows available.  Bear in mind that we were in a suite which might have more options than lower level cabins, OTOH I'm sure they would want to accommodate you if they can, whatever your cabin level is.

We haven't cruised since before Covid erupted so things may have changed ...

Email a picture of the pillow to Guest Services well in advance of your cruise so they can try to get one for you.

I agree.  Better advance notification than on-ship disappointment.

No need to check with Guest services - Oceania ships have down feather pillows, foam pillows, gel pillows, tempur-pedic pillows, pillow rolls, an entire array.   Just ask cabin steward when you meet them and they will be changed out.

I think the OP is asking about the shape of the foam pillow. Do you know if that shape is available?

I thought that to be true, but when I waited until I was onboard to request a wedge pillow, there were none to be found. Better to request in advance to be sure.

These are our pillows too! We got some of those compression bags with the hand pumps on amazon. Because they are memory foam the pump compresses them to about an inch thick and they fit nicely in a large suitcase. We have been doing this for several years and it works great! When you open them when you get to your destination they pop right up, good as new!

We normally do also but they are quite heavy. I was trying to reduce our baggage weight if possible.

I don't know if you an Oceania specialist as a TA, but we do.  She takes care of all our special requests.

Ok then. Please let me know what they tell you. We had a PH room years ago which came with a pillow menu, but none of those worked for us. We both have tender necks so the weight is worth it for us but I totally get it!

I use one of those at home, and when I travel in the US, but have made do with a pillow on top of one of the couch throw pillows on Oceania. I will be interested to hear if they are available.

I have had a phone call from our Oceania TA. She had asked the Miami office (we are in Australia) they said that they only have memory foam pillows. Have decided to order these for the room but will probably take ours.

If you need the neck pillow

I take a bath towel roll it & put in the pillow case   it does help  when  missing  my  Neck pillow  from home

Ok but how do you compress them for the trip home?

Before the vac bags existed, we used sealable bags and rolled the filled bag toward the opening while squishing down to remove air. When done rolling, we sealed the bag an either left rolled or flattened. It doesn't flatten quite as much as with vac, but it works.

We also have borrowed the cabin steward's vacuum and used it to suck out the air...
