A Couple of General Questions - Caribbean Princess

We haven't been on Princess in over a decade, but we've got one coming up in just a few weeks.  We've been on 12 Princess cruises previously, but from the sounds of it, some things have changed significantly.

Since we live in Florida, we try as much as we can to avoid flying, but in this case, we will be flying home, so trying to avoid items from packing where we can.

 

With that in mind, could those who have recently been on the Caribbean P, please let us know:

> In restaurants and especially the International Cafe, is the sweetener Truvia offered?

> In the stateroom bathroom, understand that shampoo/conditioner and body wash are in the wall pumps on the shower wall.  By the sink, is there a liquid hand soap?  And is there body lotion, or can we/ do we have to ask for it?

> On embarkation day, if we immediately want to book a couple of specialty restaurants, is there a central place to do that, or must we go to each restaurant directly?  (We know we could pre-book in the App, but we have OBC we want to use, so ... in person, once we're on board is how we're going.)

> As Platinum cruisers, will we have bathrobes in the cabin?  Not sure, but seem to remember always having received them in the past.

 

Would really appreciate having replies to these specific questions, but if anyone has anything else that we should be aware 

of, we'd  love to hear about those things too.

Liquid Hand soap and hand lotion at the sink.

 

You can go to the Specialty restaurant or call Dine line from your cabin to book SD.

 

You can request bathrobes on the App under preferences >room, or just ask your steward once OB if they’re not in the closet.

 

IDK about sweetener.

"Conditioning" shampoo and shower gel in pumps in shower.  Body lotion was in small tube by sink, you can ask for more. 

 

> On embarkation day, if we immediately want to book a couple of specialty restaurants, is there a central place to do that, or must we go to each restaurant directly?  (We know we could pre-book in the App, but we have OBC we want to use, so ... in person, once we're on board is how we're going.) *** Call DINE line and you can make them all that way. Otherwise, yup, in person at each restaurant. 

 

> As Platinum cruisers, will we have bathrobes in the cabin?  Not sure, but seem to remember always having received them in the past.  *** Robes are available for everyone, regardless of any Captain's Circle status 

 

Would really appreciate having replies to these specific questions, but if anyone has anything else that we should be aware 

of, we'd  love to hear about those things too.

You can book the specialty restaurants using the app on you are onboard if you like and it will be charged to your shipboard account.

On Caribbean Princess right now and agree with @PacnGoNow’s comments.  To add to the comment about robes:  loyalty status is not a consideration.  Anyone  can request a robe thru the App.  One size fits some, definitely not all.

 

I haven’t seen Truvia.  In addition to the pink and blue packets they have Splenda (yellow packets).

 

Our body lotion by the sink is in a dispenser not a tube.

What a great resource CC is when fellow cruisers are so willing to jump in, with their knowledge, to reply to questions.

 

@capriccio  Hope things are going well on your cruise!  We've been hearing so many sketchy things about the Caribbean P and have been just a little worried, but we hope that you aren't experiencing any of those issues.  

If you do happen to come across any Truvia around the ship, would you please come back to advise?   And in the meantime, hope you continue to have a good time.

No problems at all.  Ship is making ports and moving at 19 knots during our sea day (tomorrow is St. Thomas).  AC is great in our cabins (we have 3 at the aft on Emerald Deck).  No plumbing issues in our part of the ship nor that I’ve heard of.  The first production show is tonight (2 different comedians the first two nights and then 3 production shows).  
 

Will keep an eye out for Truvia.

looks like they removed it from the App.

Just ask your room steward for them, if they’re not in your closet once OB.

Once you are onboard and connected to MedallionNet, OceanNow will be activated on the app.  Aside from room service and drinks, you can order robes through OceanNow by pressing the Room Amenities option.  You can also order a bucket of ice, extra hangers, extra towels, etc.

An easy way to have a robe is to just ask your cabin steward. If you do not see him/her soon after boarding just leave a note. Many times robes are not available on the first day as they are being laundered from the previous cruise.

Hello all. We haven't cruised since 2013 & are looking into going on the CB sometime this coming February going to San Juan & St. Thomas. I know it went into drydock in late 2019, but before we book, we were wondering if we can get some honest feedback good or bad on the ship. I did read the previous posts already.
