Can we spend the on board credits in the shops as well as the special restaurants on board ? Are there ant limitations ?

TIA

Yes you can spend in the shops as well as restaurants. No limitations that I’m aware of.

Yes, we’ve used the credit in the shops for just about everything. My DH first buys his favorite Scotch and then whatever I find. Last cruise I ended up with 3 pair of specialty socks for Christmas stockings to use up the last of the credit. 😁

😉we brought home a scotch as well!  It was not properly backed to get thru security in ATL so next time we will pack it in checked luggage

Only limit on on board credit if it is non refundable (which the OBC is that HAL gives) is that it can’t be used in the casino or for cash.  Otherwise it’s good for anything at all on the ship.

Can't use them for the casino. I believe anything that you can charge to your room account will count. When you look at your account details on board, it should show the OBC as a negative (eg -$150) and then as charges are made to your account, the amount of OBC will decrease accordingly.

Can you buy liquor in the shops to have in your cabin rather than to take home?

No.  If you buy liquor in the shops it will be held and delivered to your cabin the night before disembarkation.

You can, however buy a bottle of liquor from the bars - just call room service - to have in your cabin.  It’s more expensive than the duty free in the shops, of course.

I'm not a big ant fan, so I hope that limit is really low; then I can move on to using it on fun stuff like cappuccino!!

We just got off of the Rotterdam.  We had the HIA package as did my sister and sister-in-law.  I told them to check their account balance the next to last day of the sailing and sure enough, both still had $50 credits.  They went to the shops and bought some jackets that were marked 50% off.
