@Bostonjetset I’m so glad you got to enjoy some of the highlights in Vancouver and area.  I was born & raised in Vancouver & still live in the city fairly close to the cruise port.  So much to see and do here so I’m glad you had some time.

Thanks for taking us along on your cruise!  I enjoyed reading and seeing your photos.  Such great memories you’ve made with your Mom and so special she could celebrate with you on a cruise.

Thanks for reading. I’m glad you enjoyed it. You live in a beautiful part of the country for sure!!  Lucky.

For my coffee I always take Coffee Mate in a zip lock bag.

I don’t like powered creamers. For me those would be a step below even milk haha.

Thanks again for taking your time to share your experience and great photos.
The Capliano suspension bridge is a real thrill , at least for us 🤣

Yes we loved it.  It was a highlight of Vancouver!

I'm taking Coffee Mate pods as I don't like powdered creamers, either. So hoping the liquid isn't confiscated.

Confiscated by airlines/TSA or confiscated by HAL?  I do not *think* it goes against either one on surface reading of the rules.  But do not use me as your final authority as I have no actual authority.

Confiscated by HAL. Feel confident TSA and airline don't care, nor HAL either, but I've read posts of people saying liquid creamer was taken at port. Seems odd since it's not liquor, but I got the pods as a proactive measure (vs bottle) hoping to increase likelihood it gets to my cabin.

Thank you for your thorough review. It confirmed to me that the next time I sail on a Pinnacle class ship, getting Club Orange to avoid the MDR experience is almost a must-do.

Yes I would be inclined to agree. At least until they get their act together. Or eat in all specialty restaurants.

I wonder if it is an issue with the "ban" on single use plastics and such?

My mother had one too, so I had to find it online to post here 😁

I worked for the company that made these puzzles,  I just found it amazing that Bostonjetset's photo is nearly similar-even the people standing outside the building.  The tide is lower in the puzzle though.

I just found your review and found it a wonderful read.  I have been to Alaska and I have been on the Kdam, so I enjoyed your reiview  even more.  Have a Rdam cruise coming up in 60 days and I am starting to get the cruise juices flowing and this was exactly the kind of read I was looking for, thanks.  By the way our upcoming cruiise will be to celebrate my DW's 70th birthday and it is a cruise that she was offered to her byt the casino after our last trip on Holland America.

We just returned from an Alaska cruise on the Koningsdam with our family and agree with what you've said. We had a great time overall though. I may or may not have had 2 orders of those escargot! They were so good!

On a side note, Air Canada is beyond terrible, we've avoided them for years. We tried Flair airlines on the way home and were pleasantly surprised. Yes they do charge you for any and all baggage, however our flights were still half the price of Westjet or Air Canada, so can't complain about that. No snacks or drinks offered unless you want to pay (Which they're up front about) but with only an hour long flight for us, it wasn't a big deal. Gone are the days of flights being luxury experiences.

I just read your review and really enjoyed it!  Glad you had fun and enjoyed the Vista Suite. That extra space is def needed for four people as the standard balcony cabins are quite small on this class of ship. I had been to the Lumberjack Show on a past cruise in 2016 and agree it’s really fun.  I too thought it would be cheesy and was pleasantly surprised haha.

Air Canada was the only nonstop airline from

Boston so that’s why we chose them. I wouldn’t pick them again unless it was a similar situation. Luckily I have lounge access at the airport so can eat there before flights.

Yes I probably would have done the same. Don't ever take them if you've got a connecting flight, especially if it's through the Toronto airport.... Unless you want to miss your connection AND lose your luggage. It's just terrible. Mind you, Toronto is one airport I'll do my best to avoid no matter what airline I'm flying.
