I previously started a thread about how to book this tour and the consensus and past experience was that you had to go to the Shore Excursion desk on embarkation day to book the tour. That is no longer the case! You can now book online. I just booked my tour for my 2/3/24 cruise in the Horizon!

Where did you find it?  I'm not seeing it as an option for our cruise next week?

JH announced it a couple days ago, but it is supposedly only on the Horizon at this time.

Oh that's aggravating. I'm not on FB, wife is. But I missed this and it's already sold out for our Horizon 11/25 cruise. I had planned to run to excursion desk right away.

I did a search for it when I was  on the Shore Excursions page - IDK if it was actually under SE or not. Someone in my FB group mentioned that it was a “trial” by Carnival, so maybe it’s not available fleet wide ?

that sucks.  it really is very cool.   we have done it on 3 or 4 ships  and it's been different on each class.   we did it before it got very popular, once they were making announcements trying to fill it up.

It wouldn't hurt to still run to the excursion desk when you get on board.  Our cruise in May ended up doing two tours because they had so many people wanting to sign up.  I don't know if that was an anomaly or what but it never hurts to try!

I saw it under shore excursions for the embarkation day... here's the listed description:

Tour happens on the last sea day of your voyage. See additional notes below.

Most Carnival guests are aware that behind the scenes of their cruise vacation there’s a bustle of activity to deliver fun memorable experiences, but few have gotten an up-close look at these inner workings. Experience an array of “back of house” areas that are vital to a ship’s daily operations on our Behind the Fun Ultimate Tour!

Explore beyond the public areas with visits to the ship’s bridge, engine control room, main galley, staff dining areas, storeroom, laundry, and other spaces for a rare insider’s view of many areas typically seen only by the ship’s crew.

The tour is extremely exclusive, offered only once during the cruise on a sea day and is limited to only 16 participants. Led by our onboard Learning & Development Manager accompanied by a member of our security team, you'll get to visit sensitive areas operated at elevated security levels. Tour participants will also be able to meet and interact with shipboard staff while visiting the different areas.

What’s Included:

  • Limited edition Behind The Fun baseball cap, identifying guests as Honorary Team members.
  • Complimentary commemorative photos.
  • Carnival branded goodies.
  • Light snacks and pastries.

NOTES

  • Tour happens on the last sea day of your voyage. If there is only one sea day on your voyage, your tour will take place on that day. Please stop by the Carnival Adventures desk to collect your tickets.
  • For security reasons, no cameras, recording devices of any kind or cell phones are permitted on the tour.
  • The tour will be visiting a few areas that are accessible only by stairs. Some of the stairs are rather steep. Guests must wear comfortable closed toe shoes or sneakers, no sandals or flip flops.
  • No bathing attire or skirts are permitted.
  • Minimum age for tour is 8 years. Any guests under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
  • The total tour, including check-in process, lasts approximately 3 hours and 45 minutes.

When it does become available on other ships where is it listed online?  Under shore excursions?  As a separate category in the cruise manager?

In regard to where it's listed -  I selected Shore Excursions, then filtered by day (selecting only embarkation day) and it popped up.  $130 per person.

That's what we paid Venezia in Sept.

Enjoy!!

  • 2 weeks later...

I see that the accessible version is $50/person because it includes video of the places that are inaccessible with mobility devices.

Even though none of the people I'll be cruising with have accessibility issues, I still wish there was an option to do a lower-priced tour and just not go to all the places (obviously not taking spots from those who need it). The Girl Scout troop I lead would love to do something like this, but the girls are paying for their entire cruise with cookie money and the $130 tour isn't in the budget although a $50 tour would be.

This really does sound great!

  • 1 month later...

I am hoping that they hold some reservations back for people to book once onboard.  My husband hesitated and now it is sold out for our Mardi Gras sailing next month.
