More Deception from Celebrity

I looked on the app for my next cruise. Attached is a screen shot.

This is the description for The Retreat Lounge or as it is referred to on the  Constellation, Michaels Club

How can you watch the big game, read the latest best sellers, or catch up on the news?   I have never seen a TV.  There aren’t any books,  and there isn’t any newspapers.

You bring your laptop, tablet or book and grab a comfy chair and a drink. Then read a  book or newspaper or stream a sportng event.

It is marketing hype of what is possible not deception as all are possible.

Many, years ago there was a TV camouflaged as a painting/mirror (Samsung "The Frame")

This is true on S class and some M class. They rarely turn them on - appropriately so in my opinion. They did for an equator crossing showing the ships position and the World Cup when in South America. The TV on the Infinity is a shown below. I didn't stay long enough in the Retreat lounge on E class to notice.

Then it should read as a place where you can read YOUR book and etc and making it appear as if it a place that has it available or provides it

Honestly as a person who doesn't watch any "big games" I would find it annoying- the game should be watched  using your iPad, phone and earbuds so as not to intrude upon other people trying to enjoy the relaxation of the lounge.  They also have venues with TVs.

I agree on this.   I like sports and watch some of it but it can’t be a retreat if it is turned into a sports bar.

It is also annoying when a group constantly takes over and turns the place into their private party area.

So I guess celebrity should just say it's a room with a door and seating.   No deception.

It’s a nice place to enjoy a drink and talk to friends. Snacks also available.  The afternoon tea is also enjoyable. When we want more we enjoy the martini bar or cafe al baccio.  But the retreat is also enjoyable

don't they show games on the tvs in the  bars in or near the casinos...

some ships have a sports bar where you can buy lite pub fare.. others show "big games" on the big screen in the theater or at roof top area

Retreat should be a nice gathering area for suite guests .... maybe the ad description should be updated to avoid  inaccurate expectations!

and let's not even go to the Pickleball issue...put it in the basement!

Cellarmasters on Solstice appears to have been turned into a sports bar with big screens and loud volume whether anyone is actually watching. Bartender flat out refused to lower the sound although there was nobody else in the area. Soon he had nobody at all, as we left.

Apex has one near the concierge stand - it ran the voyage channel with no sound I think.

No sound works for me. I asked a colleague when I was working what radio station he wanted to listen to? His reply: WOFF. The last thing I desire is a TV playing in Michaels Club. The voyage channel with no sound is fine.

Just off Constellation. There is a TV, but it is on showing the position of the ship.
