NEW TO CRYSTAL COMING FROM SILVERSEAS and asking about the dress code on Crystal

For those familiar with Silverseas is the dress code comparable with casual,informal and formal nights or is it closer to Regent with mostly elegantly casual. We are booked on the Serenity in November and are wondering how to pack.Appreciate advise from those who have been on board recently.

WHAT IS THE DRESS CODE ONBOARD?

Day Casual

 

A less formal look allows guests to feel comfortable during the day; Day Casual attire may be worn everywhere, including our restaurants, until 18:00.

Suggestions for a Day Casual look:

T-shirts or blouses

Linen clothing

Swimsuits with cover-ups (when not poolside)

NOTE: Swimwear on its own, wet swimwear, revealing clothing, bathrobes, bare feet, tank tops, baseball caps, and clothes bearing any offensive messaging are not permitted. Covered swimsuits may only be worn at Trident Grill, Tastes, and Marketplace.

 

Evening Resort

 

A step up from Day Casual, after 18:00, we ask that guests adopt the more refined Evening Resort dress code.

 

Suggestions for an Evening Resort look:

 

Women

 

Dress

Skirts

Pants

Blouses or sweaters

Dark-wash jeans with no rips

Tailored dress shorts

 

Men

 

Shirts

Collared polo shirt

Sweaters or smart designer sweatshirts

Dark-wash jeans with no rips (only when accompanied with a jacket)

Chinos

Sports jacket or blazer (optional)

Tailored shorts (these may only be worn in the Tastes restaurant)

 

NOTE: Please avoid flip-flops/sliders, swimwear, and hats.

 

Formal Evening

 

On sailings over seven days, there will be at least one optional ship-wide formal night (depending on the length of the segment), which will require more formal cocktail chic attire. These special events will be defined in your personal pre-sailing guide.

 

Suggestions for a Formal Evening look:

 

Women

 

Cocktail dresses or gowns

Suits Evening skirts or pants with an elegant top

Evening shoes

 

Men

 

Suits or tuxedos

Shirts

Dress shoes

Ties (optional)

There is not the "jacket required" which you find for the greatest proportion of Silversea nights.

One thing I wanted to highlight is if you are on the 11/9 or 11/18 cruises there will only be one formal night and if you are on the 11/27 cruise none.  

 

Keep that in mind as you plan your attire.

Of note, on Formal evenings a sport coat, with or without tie, is also perfectly acceptable. And unlike our multiple segment cruise on Silver Moon last year, you will never see an Informal dress requirement on the last night of the cruise!!

Thanks everyone for the information actually we are on the 11/18 cruise from Bridgetown to Fort Lauderdale, so I guess that I only need to bring a Jacket for the one formal night. It is going to be interesting to see how A & K and Manfredi have evolved Crystal to what appears to be a less formal Silverseas of old.

New Crystal is very similar to Old Crystal and is not Silversea at all.

Not correct from later this month though - the Silversea dress code is changing to a more relaxed approach - even on what are effectively optional formal nights

 

OCEANGOING ONBOARD ATTIRE

Silver Dawn, Silver Spirit, Silver Muse, Silver Moon, and Silver Whisper, effective for sailings departing before the 21st of April 2024

Silver Shadow, effective for sailings departing before the 26th of May 2024.

 

Silversea operates an onboard dress code after 6 pm.

During the day, casual wear, similar to five-star resort sportswear, is suitable for daytime activities. It is recommended to wear flat or low-heeled shoes for deck activities.

Evening wear falls into three categories:

• Elegant Casual: On casual evenings, ladies may opt for trousers, a blouse, skirt, or casual dress, while gentlemen may wear an open-collar shirts and slacks. A jacket is optional.
• Informal: On informal evenings, ladies may choose to wear a dress or pantsuit, while gentlemen must wear a jacket in all indoor spaces. The tie is optional.
• Formal: May choose a more formal attire, such as an evening gown or cocktail dress for ladies and a tuxedo, dinner jacket, or dark suit with a tie for gentlemen. Alternatively, adhering to Elegant Casual dress code is welcomed, but a jacket is still required for gentlemen in all indoor spaces.

Regardless of the daily dress code:

• After 6 pm, indoor spaces prohibit jeans, shorts, sneakers, or flip-flop-type footwear.
• Casual wear is always suitable in outdoor venues.
• Gentlemen dining at La Dame restaurants are required to wear a jacket.

The number of formal evenings will vary, depending on the voyage length:

• On sailings of 7 days or less, expect 1 formal night
• On sailings of 8-9 days, expect 1 formal night.
• On sailings of 10-14 days, expect 2 formal nights.
• On sailings of 15 days or more, expect 3 formal nights.

While they are permitted on most excursions, if there are restrictions they normally advise and that includes clothing and baseball caps.  For example, if you went into a church a baseball cap wouldn't be appropriate in many places around the world.
