How is Vista after drydock?

Recommended Posts

I was hoping for some feedback on Vista since it returned from drydock, but I haven't heard anything.  I know it had some mediocre reviews before and was wondering if the changes made the experience better.  I have been on every class of ship except Vista class.  My favorite class is Spirit class and my least favorite is Excel class.  I did enjoy Dream class.  I like eating at specialty restaurants and I am a frequent casino patron.  I'm not a fan of wall-to-wall crowds (who is?), but I understand that the buffet at lunch and elevators at peak times get busy. I love ABC itineraries and the Vista does several of them.  Any opinions on if I will like Vista and whether people are enjoying themselves onboard after drydock?

will be on her in 9 days, hope she is ready to go.

I was on during Thanksgiving, and I sailing again on the voyage when you get back. If you can, let us know your perception of the ship once you board.

I was on this for the 1st cruise after dry dock.  This was only 2 nights since the 1st night was canceled due to the ship being delayed.  The ship is beautiful and very clean.  The new Non-smoking casino annex was very hot.  Hopefully they will have figured that out.  We loved the Havana bar and live Latin music.  Only saw one show and it was typical.  Dining room was nice and food was average but what I expected.  I would definitely recommend.

Just off Vista today. here’s a short sweet and to the point run down.

It was my first vista class. My favorite is spirit class. Overall the ship was very clean and nice. I was underwhelmed upon boarding because I totally love the classic carnival atrium. It might be time to return to the victory and triumph post renovation. I found the ship more difficult to navigate and just couldn’t get my bearings. The layout was not intuitive.

We had a family harbor suite and connecting balcony.  The room set up was fantastic for 5 kids 2 parents and one Grama. The family harbor lounge was really convenient for getting the kids breakfast. I’ve seen quite a few comments about the FH suite location being under the galley and I found it very quiet. I never heard noise at night and no one even noticed any out of the ordinary noises.

Anyway service was mostly good. Only a couple of times did I have trouble getting a drink in the casino so that’s good. The lido buffet seating area was plentiful. I was able to find a table or tables to fit 8 everytime I tried. We ate in the dining room once and it was good ish. We ate in the steakhouse twice and it was excellent both times. Blue iguana and guys were both great as always.  I didn’t go to any shows or comedy so I can’t comment on those. My grandkids really enjoyed camp carnival and asked to go when they could. The kids old enough to do the ropes and sky ride really liked those as well.

Embarkation was unbelievable. Our check in time was 1030 and our boarding number was A01. We arrived at the door to check in at 1015 and walked straight through and on to the ship. Debarkation was as seamless. We had #1 luggage tags, went to the dining room at 0800 as specified and we were on the road at 0820. This is just my 2 cents.

if there are any specific questions feel free to ask.

Since they moved Cherry on Top, does it still have the ice cream shop with mix-ins?

No. We did visit the shop on multiple occasions and I think they need to restock their stuffies after the kids were there but no ice cream.
