Still pouring here in Canberra, hopefully  Sydney is starting to dry up.

It is suppose to be dry until Tuesday -- then only 6 mm (1/4 inch) predicted.   Suppose to be great weather in the intrim

So it was 60ish and sunny on your walk? Perfect!

Andrew my husband went to school out there and really wants us to go back for a visit. There's just no time between work, family visits and cruises! 🤪

Have a great time on your cruise!

He definitely would not recognize it.   Most of the area had once been Fruit Orchards and all the towns and train stops were shipping stations.    There now are no longer any orchards -- All we grow is Silicon.

Let's wind our clock back to Noon on Friday -   Continued to pour so trying to figure out what to do to stay dry for the next 2 hours until check in time.   One Idea was  to camp out at a hotel lobby.   Across from the Oversea Passenger Sea Terminal is the Modern Art Museum.

Checked Google and found it was free so decision was made.

Was really interesting and lots of place to sit down and watch multimedia exhibits and just explore the 4 story museum.

My husband thought the Polaris Burger at IAD was one of the best burgers he has ever had. Totally agree, the food on the flight was barely passable. Definitly eat in the lounge.

Glad to hear that.  We'll be in the Polaris lounge at IAD next month before our flight to HND.

After we got into our AirBnB we went to find some provisions.   Of course another deluge.

Here's a quick and dirty video of our AirBnB on Miller's Point - Great area.  We are off to dinner so may take awhile to render.

Your AirBnB looks very nice. We also love AirBnB when we travel and if staying in one place for more than 1 night. We lived in Australia when we were 1st married for 3 years. In fact we got married on a Friday and landed in Australia on the Monday……that was our honeymoon🤣. My husband was starting his job the following Monday. We lived just north of Sydney in a place called Gosford. I travelled to Sydney every day for work by train long days but very happy memories. We have only been back once 2013 as we love seeing other parts of the world.

AirBnb looks nice - clean and not cluttered.  And great views on the balcony - city and harbor, both!  Did anyone loose the picture at about 2-1/2 min in?  Glad to see your weather has turned around.  Sydney is such a beautiful city!

So I get back from the Eclipse, a wonderful journey around South America, and find another fantastic Jim_Iain cruise adventure. You have inspired us to become more adventurous in our cruising, and we are actually considering this for our 50th anniversary in 2026. Following this with great anticipation!

It should be great.   Only negative is the LONG flights... but recovery is quick.

Soft piano background made me feel like Iain was there.

All the instruction manuals I've read indicated you need soft background to override white noise.  So much to learn.     Love learning new skills.

Guys you sure you are not in Scotland.............

We haven't even heard from home in Ayrshire --- has it been bad.    Crazy weather.  Saw on the News that yesterday Mt Hamilton overlooking Silicon Valley had 6 inches of snow.     On the valley floor we rarely get frost.

Saturday -   I'm getting caught up.     It was a beautiful sunny day after a night of heavy rain, lightning and thunder.   It was fun to see as we rarely get thunder and lightning.

We got a slow start and just puttered around and had lunch before taking off.   We are up on Miller's Point a high ridge overlooking the Harbor to the east and Darlilngton Harbor to the West

I guess Iain also won.   We just followed the trail and had beautiful views of the harbor fronts.   Before we knew it we were coming out at The Rocks.

Oops... The Rocks...

With 2 ships in port, the Rocks were bustling with a nice mix of locals and tourists.   Just too crowded.   We figure we will come back after the weekend.

I think weather patterns are just out of whack these days. My husband is watching Wrestlemania which is in Pittsburgh and it looks cold people are weather big jackets. I was sitting outside on the lounger by the pool this afternoon 😆
