First time I've got this notice from Princess. It looks like maybe the Sun is overbooked for April 27th, and the offer is like denied boarding compensation if applied to alternative cruise.

Has anyone had similar offers for experience with this?

Thanks

People who have had these offers and accepted them will be posting answers to you soon, but I will say that if it's something you are interested in taking, grab it quickly!

Yes, we took advantage of one and it was a great deal.  Our's included one or two cruises up to a stated number of days in an upgraded cabin with protection for port fees, Princess insurance, and EZAir.  Most importantly the cruise fare we paid was turned into refundable OBC and the amount unused at the end of the replacement cruise was refunded to us in the form of a check.  If you are flexible and interested in the offer don't delay.  They send out a lot of offers and first to respond will get it.

We’ve gotten and have accepted move over offers in the past.  It’s one of the best offers ever and they go very quickly!  We are usually very flexible with our travel plans and rarely fly any distance to our embarkation port and that’s usually on Southwest Airlines when we do.
Basically, they give you a cruise with the same perks and move you to a cruise with a similar itinerary in a similar category and when you cruise again, they provide you with refundable OBC of your original cruise fare.
If you are flexible and don’t have your heart set on a specific date, jump on it quickly!  Others will do that if you don’t.

wow - 17 days and already seeking move overs ... ours have been 6 days - took, then sailed the week following... and the next time was the next day notice - couldn't make it work

I'm booked on Apr 27 as well but did not receive an offer. But that departure starts the summer rotation and people boarding Apr 27 could be doing 7 nights to Athens, 14 nights to Barcelona, or 21 nights back to Rome. It would be useful if the OP would say how long they are on and how they booked (travel agency or direct). We're on for 21 nights booked through a travel agency.

We were scheduled for the April 27 - (7) day cruise out of Rome.

We received the move over offer last night and accepted.

Booked through Princess. We had booked a Deluxe Balcony cabin - not a guarantee.

It is being processed now.

We were booked on the Apr 27 Sun Princess sailing for 14 days in a Penthouse suite. We use a TA for all our cruise bookings.

We accepted the offer and received the following:

Free cruise on Sun Princess Aug 10, 14 days, same itinerary

Cabin upgrade

All OBC moved over plus $440 Customer Goodwill added

Original Cruise fare added to OBC as refundable and a check will be issued at the end of the cruise

Since EZAir was done by Princess, they rebooked

One excursion in Rome was not refundable and Princess will reimburse us

Our excursions bought through our TA were easily canceled and rebooked for the Aug sailing

When we changed the dates on our hotel stay in Rome, the hotel rates were lower and we saved $260

A pretty good deal! 😎

We accepted a similar offer from Princess for our 14 night Mediterranean on the Enchanted last April.  They rebooked us for the same itinerary in June and we received everything that Skiah mentioned except the $440 Customer Goodwill.  They rebooked our EZ Air flights and absorbed the increase in plane fare for the new flights.  As they promised, we received a check for our reimbursed cruise fare about 5 weeks after we got home.  An additional benefit was that the weather was much nicer on our rebooked cruise than it would have been on our original one.  It was basically a free 14 night cruise.  We’d love to get another Move Over Offer in the future.

I spoke too soon. We did receive a moveover offer on 4/15 and took it. We rebooked for next April. As the offer was for up to 30 nights or two 15-night cruises, we will do 28 nights - two 14-night cruises as Princess markets it repeating the Barcelona to Rome segment. We had enough other things planned for this summer that rebooking this year was not an option for us and unlike most years when the summer Med ship stays and does slightly different fall itineraries, this year Sun Princess heads to Ft. Lauderdale in September and it's Island Princess, which I have no desire to go on after its butchering, doing the fall Med cruises.

We had booked the 7 day, April 27 sailing on the Sun Princess leaving from Rome.

Our Move Over offer, which we accepted - was for any Mediterranean cruise up to 14 days, all of the original cruise fare posted as refundable onboard credit, travel expense reimbursement and a cabin upgrade. We had 2 years to rebook.

We are now booked on a new 14 day Mediterranean cruise for next year. The original fare is listed on our booking as refundable OBC and we were upgraded from our original deluxe balcony cabin to a mini suite. All other OBC credit we had was transferred along with the Princess Plus package that we had originally booked.

Our original airfare was booked with miles so that was fully refundable. All of our hotels and tours were refundable as well. We had previously booked Spellbound for this cruise and that was promptly refunded by Princess.
