Sounds identical to World Europa

It is...

"The announcement highlights the introduction of what will be the largest MSC Yacht Club in the North American market."

MSC should do what RCCL does and add an extra few millimeters to each new build for a class so that it can be the "....new LARGEST EVERRRRR!!!!!" at something. 😁

I have been in the YC on Divina, Meraviglia, Seaside and Seashore many times over the last three-ish years. After reading all the comments on FB about World Europa YC, I have no interest in trying the World America YC. Way too many special services, amentities, etc. have been lost on World Europa due to the increased size of the YC.

Please elaborate. I'm curious about specific changes because I've not read about anything other than the unfavorable passenger-to-space ratio in World Europa's YC. (Which is bad enough, of course.) Thanks in advance.

No snacks openly available in the Top Sail Lounge, no breakfast or lunch buffet at the One Bar, loungers filling up like they do at the gen pop pools, people having to wait 30-60 minutes for a table in the YC restaurant (I have never had to wait for a table in many YC cruises), Butlers stretched much thinner, etc. I have had nothing but great experiences on the "older" ships I have sailed and have no desire to try something new at a much higher price point, just to be disappointed.

This is terrible news. 😵

The service aspects are irrelevant to us, and the wait times for dinner seem to have been at least partially solved by opening a second dining space for YC guests in the 2nd floor of the buffet.

However, the small pool, only having one whirlpool? Moving away from small plate snacks + buffet to a made-to-order grill? That's a big step back from the Seashore/Seascape YC experience.

The Owners Suites look great, tho, so I'm still tempted to book on World America or World Europa. And the rest of the ship, especially the outdoor promenade look great. It seems like the World-class ships have the best Bella/Fantastica experience of any class in the fleet?

The last 2 trips I have had on the Euribia and the Seaside the daily snacks to grab yourself have disappeared as well.  Now you must ask and you get what is available at that time.

There are two large whirlpool on the Top 20 deck just outside the YC on deck 20.

I think that the made-to-order food was very nice so no step back, I think.

oh, good to know. Almost everyone has labeled the food situation as more of a hassle and/or taking things away. Yours is the first report I've seen saying it's at least largely equivalent.

But RE: whirlpools: the Top 20 deck whirlpools are of course shared with Aurea, no?

And ya know, I'd argue that the Explora 1 is the largest YC.

Except only one of the three categories of rooms receives butler service.

Explora focuses on speciality dining venues, rather than one general menu. This makes it harder to establish special dining requests than in YC. One can have the same server team for all your dinners in YC, which makes standing requests easy.

So, rather different from Yacht Club, really.

It was very hot on the sundeck on our cruise but it was a nice outside restaurant. Sit down and they give you a menu to order from. Much better than a buffet, I think.

True. This where our Residence butler shined. He said to us he was a “genie”, so immediately put him to the test. Told him we were not adventurous diners. We picked out the restaurant that we felt most comfortable with its menu and told him we wanted our own table for two for breakfast and dinner. He said he will escort us to meet the maitre’d of the restaurant and facilitate setting this request up. When we met with Nicole he was already aware of our request and asked only for us to select which table.Told him we wanted the same best waiter he had for all meals. “Yes, of course “ was his reply and I showed him my appreciation. We never stood in line.

So for us it was just like YCRestaurant. DW got her special order meal every evening.

My concern is that "the largest MSC Yacht Club in the North American market" means greatest number of YC passengers without a comparable increase in YC area and staff.  I've adopted a wait and see posture regarding a booking on the WORLD AMERICA.
