Just emailed Gareth on the Jade (casino manager) and grrrrrrrrrr! He will be on vacation when we are there in May... anyone know who the current concierge on the Jade is?

Found out from the Mother Ship... aka EPIC from people sailing this week that Paul Scalley is still onboard and will be next week as well!! :D

 

John O'Hara is still out on the Pride of America. Rumor had it he was going to be transferring to the EPIC but didn't. :cool: So Denis Prgunda is onboard right now as the HD. :)

John O"Hara is on the Spirit till May 15th and then gets to go on vacation

Yes she was fantastic and one of the best concierge that I have had with NCL. She will be leaving for holiday after the current cruise and hopefully returning to the Jade.

Does anyone know why Ray Carr suddenly left the Pearl a couple of weeks ago mid cruise? He left the ship in St Thomas and the assistant CD took over for the remainder of the week, becoming CD the following week.

Capt is Evans Hoyt, Prem is still HD, Julie was CD, Belle was our concierge but is going to the Star after her vacation, our Butler was Mansur who got off for vacation on 2/27.... that's all I can remember

 

BTW: one of my Facebook friends is the ~legendary~ concierge Bruce...sad to read he's decided to leave NCL entirely...enjoying terra firma and hometown pursuits..wonder who will be replacing Belle, (who also sounds wonderful)???

You are correct. Julie and Simon Murray have rotated the position of Dir. of Entertainment on Epic. Simon said during the Q&A with the mgmt. staff that there are about 170 entertainers on Epic' date=' so besides the CD position, they have an additional layer. The other ships have just CD's.

 

On the CD side, there have been a few so far. Last Aug. we had Silas Cooke and last month was Paul Scalley. As PE says, Pedro is there now.[/quote']

Concierge on the Gem now is Ryan Rabe. He is wonderful. I do not have answers to the others .

We were with Carlos - our absolute favourite person on the Jewel in 2009 and Pearl in 2010, he told us he was off to the Jade for a spell this year - does anyone know if he is there and for how long? We're going in October and it'd be great to see him again.

That seems to be a transition week...I believe from the last e-mail I got from him that is Adrian's last cruise as Concierge..love him! CY butlers are Nelson and Juremar..both wonderful. Silas should still be the CD and Brian Walters (I think that is right) hotel director. Food an Beverage Manager Kris (great guy) Captains change on that ship very frequently.

We had the wonderful opportunity to sail with Gary this past Nov/December on the NCL Jade. We are sailing again on the Jade this October.

 

Does anyone know if he is still on the Jade?

John O'Hara works very hard for NCL! Your info on him possibly being on the Spirit made me happy but I think Prem is still there. When Prem goes on vacation usually Frank Hassenwinkel covers for him. I do know John was on the EPIC for one week while Denis was off at a conference. Now we'll play a game of where in the NCL world is John O'Hara?!

 

Denis is a great HD as well. John is still my #1 but Denis Prgunda is great and so isn't Frank Hassenwinkel. All of them need their much deserved vacations because they keep the crew happy which in turn makes the guests VERY happy! :D

There is NO concierge in my opinion that could ever touch what Bruce did for NCL passengers. He is a LEGEND and will truly be missed. I too know he's decided to hang up the reigns and stay close to home. I can't blame him though. He's an uncle now (and so am I)! :) I have yet to meet a concierge as good as he was!! He was every where on the Spirit (smaller ship but still quite impressive). Sometimes I thought he split himself in half!

 

Truly miss Bruce this upcoming Spirit voyage! :(

I too will miss Bruce. He was the concierge for our first suite. I will probably, unfairly, compare all other concierges to him. He was so great with my 18 month old granddaughter and the rest of my family on our Bermuda trip last year. We called him the energizer bunny. I wish him all the best, but hope to see him again on an NCL ship someday.

Does anyone know who will be on the Star for the May 7th cruise? I have read that Fillipo Bertuzzi (sp?) is moving there or has moved there...? I have also read that the concierge is Patrick, but I have also read that Belle from the Spirit is or will be going there? The May 7 th cruise is the transition cruise to Alaska from LA, if this helps. Any information as to the officers and/or butler for the GV would be helpful. Thanks a bunch!

John O'Hara is a Hotel Director. He'll be covering for Prem for about two months as that is the standard vacation cycle for Hotel Directors. Although another poster made it sound like John O'Hara was slated for a vacation soon as well so who knows (maybe PE?). :cool:

 

There was talk about the concierge onboard the Spirit (Bruce) and he no longer being there. I don't know who the current concierge is. Hope that helps clear up the confusion. :)
