Wonderful thread! Thank you, Radio!

We will be on the GOS in the next few weeks. Some ppl are wondering if we are going to be able to get the Sunday football game? Anyone know if this is possible. If so, where is a lounge with TV? Thanks in advance.

Radio--have enjoyed your pictures and commentary. We are sailing on the Grandeur on 10/13.

I have a question about the pictures you took of the pier area showing a pool and I think a beach. Is that something passengers can use? Our kids are sailing with NCL in late October and one of their ports is Costa Maya. They are interested in taking our young grandkids to the beach.

Looking forward to your report on Port Canaveral. We are really excited about getting to see the space center. Have been on Disney out of PC three times but never had the chance to stop.

Thanks!!

Hi Radio !

As usual, a GREAT trip... thanks!

Your pictures are great, as always, but it looked like the deck was pretty wet in some. Are you getting rain? Over all how's the weather been? Rain? Temps? Wind? Waves?

The most rain we received was in Cozumel...3-4 Hours heavy...Other than that we passed through a couple of storms... The roughest seas were Wednesday night and Thursday morning...not bad at all though...

another question for you Radio............

there has been quite the controversy on bringing on alcohol & wine on board these days...on your trip, did you bring anything on and if so was it in your carryon and was it taken? and if not, had you heard of any alcohol or wine being taken from carryons or checked baggage?

Thanks again for allowing us to follow you this week!!!

Radio - I was wondering if you knew if SOS had internet access. I am a professional photographer and would need to upload images during my trip.

The best I have been able to find out is that I will have email access - but that doesn't help me unless I can use my laptop.

Thanks for your help.

Good question wrkfire, I would love to know about the confiscations (lack of, hopefully :o ) also.

Radio, I usually do the patch for seasickness, but this time i'm going to try non-drowsy bonine. If that doesn't work, what are my options onboard with the infirmary?

I may be able to help there! If you have done the patch and that works for you (other than the possible side effects) I think you will be much happier with the Bonine. The chewables are fast acting, just start taking them the night before your cruise to get it in the system. They recommend you take it at night first and that may help with drowsiness however I have never noticed any!! NOW to attempt to avoid a trip to the ships Doc and that's pending you are very prone to seasickness, may I recommend a trip to your family physician-explain to him your plans and ask him to write you a perscription for compazine (a perscription anti nausea med). If you go to the ships Doc you are most likely to get a shot of the SAME thing but you will pay a WHOLE lot more

Thanks wrkfire! Does the bonine have to be taken every night or does it last a few days? Also, how is the compazine taken--every day, once for the week??? The biggy important question....how does alcohol effect these meds??? :D

They were checking carryons via x-ray in Baltimore. They asked what was in by roll on bag, and I told them it was a case of Deer Park bottled water...I packed a few Amstel Lights in my backpack for my dad...that they never opened or questioned...oooops.

All RCI ships have Wi-Fi now...so as long as you have an aircard and a laptop ..You will be fine !

the Bonine is every 12hours..best to have it in your system and keep it there for "prevention". I'm not real prone to seasickness..I just get that "oh so funny feeling" when we've been in rough weather for longer than a day or so..so I only take it as needed and it is fast acting for me with no drowsiness-everyone is different but many rave over the Bonine...the pills have come along way as have the patch....I'm not a big drinker, but I have had some drinks with taking it so in moderation I would think you to be fine. I do not know how they will perscribe the Compazine or possible any other anti nausea med I would guess it to be probably twice a day...other than you will only get that from the Doc-sorry. My mother is very prone to seasickness and our Doc is always more than happy to fill whatever she may need prior to a trip (he's a cruiser too and goes with everything imaginable :) ) you could always try calling your doc first or if you have a good relationship with he or she then it shouldn't be a problem

Hope that helped

Day 8 Port Canaveral

Hello everyone…Today was a beautiful day in Cape Canaveral. Someday I would live to live on the Space Coast…It is laid back, high tech, very beautiful and relaxing environment. That sounds perfect for me !

The Immigration started at about 7AM after we docked. We were in line from 8Am until 815AM…The line was very long, but moved very quickly. I was off the ship by 9AM, and went outside to board the Budget courtesy Van….He took me down to Budget Rental (about 2miles south on Astronaut Blvd).

I picked op the car, and came back to pick up my folks from the ship. We went to Canaveral Locks, Port’s End Park, Ron Jon Caribe Resort, the Manatee Wildlife Sanctuary, and finished the day at the Radisson Resort at the Port (I had a day pass). We then went back to Budget; they dropped us off at the port. We viewed the sail away up at the Viking Crown Lounge. (Where I’m writing this post)

Here are a few pics... I will post some of the Sailaway Pics tomorrow...

Thanks for tuning in ! !
