Oosterdam repair saga continues

The O'dam has parked on the south side in San Diego, which is not normal proceedure. This puts the damaged pod next to the pier. Perhaps today will be the day to put the blades back on the azipod.

Yes, SHe is on the other side. Looks like a foggy morning in SD. It is cold and cludy here in Las Vegas 48 degrees.

Please keep us posted. It would be wonderful if it could be repaired while loading passengers, and then everything would be back to normal. Well, I can hope!

That is interesting... hopefully the Ensenada stop and/or the parking on the South Side of the pier means that progress is being made! I was down there a couple weeks ago and it looked like the prop blades were sitting right next to the fence (next to/under the sign). I'll upload a couple of pics.

The Ensenada:eek: stop was apparently part of a charter (requested in place of PV) and she's been on that side of the pier before

Looks like there is a crane on the dock at the aft end. about where it would need to be to lower the prop segments into the water.

Lisa it didnt take them long to get the blades off when we got into port from the cruise on the 7th. They had something like a dozen divers working on it. Hopefully this is good news and will put an end to all of the worrying about cancelled cruises by many who have been posting here. Lets hope someone on this trip posts when they return. Do you know if Mr. Deering is back aboard?

 

By the way I hope you're going to post a review of your Noordam trip, we followed your lead and Brian's suggestion and our group booked our trip on Noordam. As much as we loved Oosterdam and crusing with Mr. Deering we wanted to try out Noordam, actually I wanted to go on Amsterdam but the rest of our group wanted a Vista

For what dates did you book the Noordam? We will not be on the Noordam till June 17th. We are going to be on board the Zaandam this Thursday and I am taking my laptop and will be reporting "LIVE" daily.:D

Well, the prop blades are back on. Now we'll see how she does. The stop in Ensenada it turns out was due to a poolside concert by two jazz bands who boarded just for the afternoon yesterday.

How did you find out the props were on?

It's nice to know that the azipod is fixed. How did you find out? I'm looking at the SD web cam right now and she is still in port. The camera is out of focus at times, but it looks like there are a couple of tug boats at the end of the pier.

I am also curious as to why the Oosterdam is so late leaving port and how the information about the Azipod was distributed.
