Live from the Spirit !!!

Disembarkation this morning was a breeze. We stayed in bed until 7am and then finished up packing our carry-off bag with all of the electronics.

The Spirit was entering the harbor around 4:56am and was docked pierside by around 6am. At around 7:45am they called for Self Assist Disembarkation, the reason it was this late, they had to call a few people that hadn't made the Immigration check and thats what delayed everything. Finally we were off. The only problem for us was that we checked our heavy luggage so once at the pier we had to wait only 30 minutes so they can remove and position all of the luggages in the terminal, once that was done and they gave us the Green Light we were gone by 8:30am this morning and got to the house at 9am.

Final bill came out to 624.00 which 100.00 of that alone was the Internet Cafe which you really don't need and 80.00 was Supper Club. As for Cash including Cash Tips during ports visits, Bingo and port gifts came out to 400.00 so the grand total spent 1024.00 for the week, thats not bad for us. Next year on the Freedom, we will have our Mother-In-Law with us so this amount will be much higher, Im sure most of it will be portrait photos.

We didn't have to pay for Hotels nor Taxi ride to the Terminal so that was a savings there too.

Well this concludes my Report, I will be posting Specific Threads with pictures including new pictures of the Chocolate Buffet.

Thats the Beach !!! Thanks I couldn't remember the name of this awesome beach in La Paz, Playa Tecolote :)

You can tell from the Aroma of the food cooking in the shack you can tell it was going to be really good but we had only 35 minutes to spend here at the beach and we wanted to get back to the ship. The Historical City Tour took 4 hours and that pretty much drained us fast.

GTVcruiser were you able to eat here at the beach? We are thinking about going to La Paz for a week, we loved the town and folks there.

Fred

Sounds like Pichilingue Beach to me.

Heres the Map, we did see Pichilingue Beach, there was a sail boat anchored in that cove, but the beach in the picture was El Tecolote, after the City Historical Tour, we past the Cruise Terminal and head north about 10 minutes.

It was a great week!

Only bad part of the Cruise, in my opinion, were the unsupervised teenagers. Thank God Fred and I don't have kids because CPS would be called on a daily basis. No, Just Kidding. However, we would teach our kids manners and respect in public. *sigh* It was a sad thing to see that many teenagers with no guidance.

You are all welcome for having my husband during some of the Cruise. It gets him out of my hair while I shop! ;)

Vicky, Parasailing was AWESOME!!! I am so afraid of heights, but I didn't even think about it. It was one of the best things I have ever done. It was surreal and so very peaceful.

I miss my Girls! They can't be picked up until tomorrow. I am sure I will get an earful. My Beagle Girls will make sure they give me a piece of their minds.

Oh no! Two of their best buddies, Molly and Casey ( Yellow Labs ) came over for a visit! Had to tell them we would see them tomorrow.

Any way, thanks for keeping Freddy busy. Oh! Did Fred tell all of you? I had to recoup all his LOSSES from the Casino. $140 the first day and then hit $178 on the same slot machine. I had to swoop in and show him how it is done. Poor Freddy!! Hey! At least I got our money back and then some!! :p

Wendy, glad you enjoyed the adventure. I want to see you picture that Fred must have taken as you were in the air...

Jan

JAN!

It was such an AWESOME experience! Thanks for letting me know about JT Watersports!

I wasn't scared at all once I was up and it was so peaceful. All I kept thinking was that my real Dad would have been so proud of me and that it was cool that I was parasailing.

I will have Freddy send you some pics. I think he did post a couple.

Hey! Want to go on the Freedom in April 2008? You will get to meet my Mom!! :D

Wendy....I LOVED that picture. It's my desktop at work now! Everyone in the office was oooohing and aaaaaahing over the parasailing and the beach. I know it's a ways off....but think you and Freddy might consider the Acapulco/Ixtapa/Manzanillo run in Jan or Feb of '09??? cruisinchick and Neptune's Goddess are thinking about it also. I think it would be a blast for all of us to go!

Anyways......welcome home. Glad you had a great cruise!

Its the Gay & Lesbian Cruisers meet. Im not sure of the specific name, but Im hoping a Gay or Lesbian person can educate us. I think it has to do wit Judy Garland, and maybe she was the first female role model to come out, but not 100% sure.

Found it:

Most commonly it has been linked to the film The Wizard of Oz because Judy Garland, who starred as the main character Dorothy, is often noted as a major icon in the gay community.

Starting in the late 1980s, on several cruise lines, gay passengers began approaching ship staff, asking them to publicise gatherings in the daily cruise activity list. As the cruise lines were hesitant to announce such things so blatantly in their daily publications, they would list the gathering as a "Meeting of the Friends of Dorothy". Such meetings have expanded in popularity and frequency over the years. Now, many cruise lines will have multiple "FOD" events, sometimes as many one each night.

La Paz is a great place to stay for a week or longer , I have stayed there a few times. I went to Playa El Tecolote 2 years ago on the Ryndam , the beach had a lot of damage from a storm. It looks like the beach is back to the way it used to be white sand and beautiful.
