Vicky what ship and port in Dec of 08?

Fred

Ok Fred....me and Jen been yakking....it's Jan., '09 and we want the run of Acapulco, Ixtapa, and Manzanillo. Carnival isn't showing any booking past Sept. '08. How far out can you book? Do you use a travel agent or a PVP? We used a TA last time. Kinda thinking about going directly through Carnival this time so that we can get the price drops if there are any. Anyways....talk it over with Wendy. We obviously still have time to work this out. And any other CC'ers out there that are interested you're welcome to come along!

There is only one lunch time seating and the seating is open. They do try to fill tables by putting groups together (a couple at a table with four others). Lunch is over promptly at 2:00.

It's been a while since I was on the Spirit, so hopefully you can clarify something for me, Fred.

I understand that there are two seatings at lunch as well as dinner, since there's only one dining room. For lunch, while I know you can always eat at any of the other "eateries", if you eat in the dining room, does it have to be during your "assigned" seating, or do they offer open seating for lunch?

Hope things are continuing to be a blast! :)

.Dec. '08. Maybe you and Wen could join us? And if you're listening Kim maybe you too???

It is a definite possibility. Jan '09 sounds cool and enough time will have gone by from us doing that same intinerary this coming October. Of course, as you said, since they aren't even showing past 9/08...who knows if the Spirit will still be doing that Itinerary. We might get another ship out here doing it. I certainly enjoyed cruising in January of this year, so January or February would be cool. We could do a whale watching excursion! Yep, hubby and I could definitely get on board for something like this. Let me know. Once the ball gets rolling we can start talking on "Carnival Connections". I have been using that site for some friends and family that we invited along on this next cruise for our vow renewal. You can do polls there and such...like voting on excursions or even voting on dates etc. It is a really cool site. Invites can even be sent out too. Check it out http://www.carnivalconnections.com/InvitationResponse.aspx?InvitationId=14912

Sorry for the thread hi-jack....Vicky got me all excited thinking about another cruise. hehe.

ok..it was late last night when i checked..but I think I did see a Jan 2009....it was the second one for the 8 day Spirit..but like I said it was late...last time we booked dirextly thru Carnival too ....for our Pride cruise, we booked thru Triple A and got upgraded to a balcony...we compared the two when we booked the Conquest, the prices were the same, but with our past guest status, Carnival offered us a better room for the same price...hijack over..

Correct. We had Shawn on the Spirit last November, as well as on the Paradise back in 2004.

Tim - Was Shawn any good? We are leaving on Spirit on Sunday. We have 5 sea days on the way to Hawaii. A good CD is a must.

Day 5 Port Day La Paz

We are at our last port of La Paz. It is very beautiful here once you get past the industrial part. Very pretty waters on one side and Phoenix desert on the other. Wendy and I kept waiting to see signs that said "Welcome to Phoenix". But no, we are in La Paz, Mexico.

We are still having a great time. Although I did get a little too much sun yesterday in Mazatlan to where I was kind of dehydrated. No sun burn, but just felt tired. I barely ate a thing at dinner last night. By the way we had a Turkey Pasta dish, it was ok but instead of chunks of turkey in the pasta it was like 2 slices of turkey, looked like cold cuts. We also had the Jumbo Tiger Shrimp and Won Ton soup. For dessert I had my Apple Pie with a scoop of Vanilla Ice Cream. Wendy did eat much as she was sun burned and tired also.

Today we did a City Tour which I thought SUCKED!! But we survived the 4 hour tour. They took us to a Cathedral ( nice ), some museum! but spent way too much time there, some shopping, and to the beach called El Tecolote. BEAUTIFUL. We only had 35 minutes here at the beach, but you could stay there, they had free shuttle service back to the ship. They also serve up a nice lunch there at the beach but it would of taken longer then 35 mintues to get served so we took some pictures and got back on the bus.

We are back on the ship for the day, although our ship is here until 10pm.

Well, Wendy and I are going to take our Daily Nap. We are getting spoiled with all the naps we have been taking.

Tonight we have 2 comedy shows !!! these are the ones I like. Comedy and Magic of Cameron and Halarious Comedy of Seth Buchwald.

Don't ask me about the Casino last night as I sucked again, Tonight Wendy is going to give it a try. Hope she hits something.

See ya all later.

What is it about a cruise that makes you take daily naps:rolleyes: We never, and I mean never nap at home. Last year I think we had a nap every day. Those beds are truly wonderful. Fred and Wendy, have a good time and eat double tonite to make up for last nite. And....can't wait to see more photos of the food.

Hi Fred, I've been enjoying your Spirit cruise. Since I will be getting on her myself on Sunday. I have a question.

How did you get to see them cliff diving? Were you on a tour,or by yourself,or what? I very much want to see them doing this. I couldn't find a tour offered by Carnival that included seeing this.

Hope you're having a wonderful cruise! We did this last April, you may remember!! Anyhow, it's funny you say Seth Buchwald is the comic tonight because we just saw him three weekends ago on the Paradise (Ensenada cruise) and he was really funny (and funny looking...that hair is like a Chia Pet!) Someone heckled him terribly at the R rated show and so we didn't get to hear his normal routine. I'll be curious as to what your reaction is to him. He does this whole thing about the difference between discipline from mom vs. dad during the family type show.

Enjoy the Spirit, Fred and Wendy!!

Stephanie

San Diego resident too!

I have a like concern as Hendricks Clan! Not that it really makes that much of a difference, but it would be nice to know that we can still use our benefits as CVC members, albeit an extinct group. I would like to be able to utilize the priority tendering while cruising Hawaii next week and any information you could provide regarding how to make this happen would be greatly appreciated. As a matter of fact, you tell me how I can buy you a drink or two before you get back and I will make it happen! You have been more than accommodating to all of us and I would like to do the same in return.

Gypsy, do you think Fred really means "nap"? (wink, wink , nudge, nudge...) That new bedding is good for more than sleeping! ;)

Day 5 Port Day La Paz Departure

We departed tonight at 10pm, but before we left they called for 5 people to report to the Pursers Desk around 9:30pm, these were the 5 that are currently missing, hope they made it onboard. So far 5 days and everyone is well, no one sick onboard this ship. The Spirit looks great, you can tell there is always someone cleaning around the ship. Today the maintenance staff came into the cabin to change out the lights. Nothing was wrong with them, just that they were due to be changed out.

We had a great evening tonight, after a long nap, we got up and got ready for Dinner, Dinner was great, Filet Mignon, Tom Turkey, Key Lime Pie and a scoop of Butter Pecan Ice Cream. l also had the Fried Tempura Shrimp dipped in Sweet and Sour sauce and that was incredible.

Tonight we had a great funny show, both Comedy acts that I mentioned last night, these 2 guys had us laughing. The show ended at 11:30pm and there is a Mexican Buffet Party on Lido deck right now, lots of competion going on with all types of games.

Our Tablemates had a great time in La Paz, as they did their own things on the beach like swimming with the sealions and dolphins at around 40.00 pp

Right now as Im typing, Im having a Pina Colada and waiting on Room Service to drop off 2 O.J. and a BLT sandwich.

Looks like the Internet is down again for Maintenance, this is every day. I will post in the Morning.

Fred
