Glacier above Juneau, May 2001, Veendam

Engineeer Del,

Here's how I do it:

Open Webshots.

Open the album that has the photo you want to post on cruise critic.

Open the photo.

On the right hand side should be a grey rectangle that says: Link to this picture with numbers directly underneath it: 100, 200, 425, 500, 600. Those are the pixel sizes available. Choose the one you want and click on the box by the correct numer.

Then there are three choices below that: post in your blog or web site, direct link to image, and post in a forum. I always choose direct link to image. Copy that url. Then in the cruise critic reply box, click on the little yellow 'envelope' with the mountain on it on the tool bar and paste the url in the box that appears. The photo should magically appear. If you get a red box, the photo won't post.

It works for me every time. Lest you think I'm patting my own back, my 17-year-old computer geek (NOT nerd!) son figured it out for me. I'm a dunce at this stuff.

I pulled up this one to make sure I could exactly tell the sequence. This is a glacier in Juneau in 2001. My dh, his brother (squatting) and my sister-in-law (standing) took a helicopter ride up to the glacier. This has always been my favorite photo from that cruise aboard the Veendam. I don't want to know where my dh was standing! (I was too chicken to go along.)

I'd love to see your photos.

Robin

Revneal, your picture reminded me of one I had in my files - not as dramatic as yours, but it sure scared the daylights out of me. I clung to DH all the way down while he took the picture. I'm not afraid of heights, but I am afraid of riding in things that dangle by a cable high in the air over rocks. :o

Truthfully, just looking at this picture has my stomach doing flip-flops.

Smooth Sailing! :) :) :)

This is definitely my favorite thread ever. I'm so impressed with the beauty of all the photos; you are all very talented. For the places I've been-it's like reliving my trip all over again. And of course the pictures of all those places I haven't seen yet make me want to call my TA.

For those of you having problems posting pictures: keep trying because you are way braver than I am. I actually wondered if the directions for posting were actually in English or some special IT language I've yet to learn. Apparently the first thing to do is put them on the web-okay . . .

Happy traveling to all

Since this thread is back up at the top I might as well add a few of my favorites from my most recent cruise in September:D

Of course the 2 below was taken during our Whale excursion in Juneau at Auke Bay druing our September Noordam cruise.
