PhoenixCruiser Posted January 7, 2008 #126 Share Posted January 7, 2008 I showered with my hubby in one...:D ..with the curtain! Too funny Lisa ;) We stayed in a Superior Ocean-view Stateroom on the Monarch a few weeks ago (our first non-balcony cabin), the shower was bigger than the one in an E2 cabin on the Jewel. We were shocked! ###

rbfcruise Posted January 7, 2008 #128 Share Posted January 7, 2008 LauraS - - as guests of the captain they should have gotten you guys tuxes/formal dress from somewhere on the ship!!!! (I can't believe that luck of being invited to sit at the Captain's table ....) Enjoy the rest of the cruise! BTW - I agree with whoever said the captain should join you in WJ at some point. RN7997 Posted January 7, 2008 #129 Share Posted January 7, 2008 Radio-----------Loving this forum!!! I can't wait to sail in May!!! Your camera takes GREAT pics!!! My kids are loving them too. We are all excited!!! You mentioned the one day about the rocking on the upper deck. This trip we booked a D1 on deck 10 starboard all the way in the back. What do you think of this location? I have never slept higher than deck 6 but it will be May so I pray for calm seas. Cabin 1388 to be exact is where we'll be. It will be nice to be in a D1. The biggested my DH and I ever had was an E2. Keep us posted!!! Oh ya is there an age requirement for Flow Rider my son is 10 and wants to try it??? Thanks

masonpips Posted January 7, 2008 #131 Share Posted January 7, 2008 Hope you can help as we are looking to book an '09 cruise on the Liberty. In looking at some photos of the ship, it looks as though some of the balconies under the solarium whirlpools may be a bit larger (they seem to bow out slightly). Does anyone have any firsthand knowledge or photos of these? Are they a good choice? Thanks in advance for any help! Sue We sailed in 1260 on Liberty under the whirpool (or at least partially, we are forward of it a tiny bit). I did a lot of research beforehand but there isn't much info out there (http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=574346&highlight=whirlpool+hump is one thread). The balcony IS bigger. I estimated about 16" on the end where the whirlpool jutted out. It did not bother us ONE bit in terms of obstruction and/or seeing people up there (which was my worry). Photos: View up if you stand at the edge and point upward: Larger side of balcony (watch the floor boards you can see how it juts out as you go farther towards the wall) And from the jut out section looking forward:
Rare Radio Posted January 7, 2008 Author #132 Share Posted January 7, 2008 Hello everyone ! Today was a great day. I was able to do some Ice Skating in Studio B, and I went up to the Flo-Rider, but the line was very long so I will try again tomorrow. It was really fun to watch though. It was very crowded, and a lot of fun. I think that being a spectator might be the next best thing to actually using the Flo-Rider. I was able to enjoy the Solarium Pool for awhile today, and I will say that the deck patrol was making sure that there were no children allowed in that pool. The Captain introduced all of his staff tonight at the Captain Reception, in the Royale Promenade. It is a spectacle to watch him being lowered from above the Promenade. They use a hydraulic lift to lower him while using strobes, lights, and effects. . .very nice ! We are still steaming toward San Juan, and the relative wind outside is 45mph. it is very, very windy tonight. Several of the crew suggested that we may make it into San Juan by 2PM tomorrow. . . We are currently just north of Santiago, DR. Here are some pics from today. . . I will be able to post more tomorrow. Thanks for all of the nice comments, and thanks for tuning in ! Radio The Flo-Rider is the coolest place on the Ship ! The water flows at over 30MPH ! Professional Surfers are able to help all passengers. . . The Mighty Wall ! flagger Posted January 7, 2008 #138 Share Posted January 7, 2008 Are they now encouraging females in bikinis to wear a t-shirt? I don't remember a sign on our Freedom cruise a year ago. Rare Radio Posted January 7, 2008 Author #140 Share Posted January 7, 2008 Hello everyone! Good Morning. We will be in San Juan in 5-6 hours. We still have approx 60 nm to go. We have sailed 828 nm since Miami. We should be joined today by Radiance of the Seas, Costa Mediterrania, and Carnival Liberty. I have found out that the Best Coffee served on board the Liberty of the Seas is up on deck 14, at the Diamond Club ! Wow , it is very good. Tonight there will be the “In The Air“ show in the Platinum Theatre, which the Cruise Compass calls “A Visually Spectacular Show”. I will have to check it out at 11PM after we sail from San Juan. My plan for San Juan is to go to Starbucks, and then head over to the Casino, which will be directly across from the pier. I have visited the Forts many times, and will just walk around the city. . . I heard there was some damage from a Freighter last week in Montego Bay. . . I will check on it more when we get to San Juan. (Balcony Damage only) Here are a few pics from this morning. . . Radio Solarium Spa at 7AM Solarium Spa from above Diamond Lounge on Deck 14 Early A.M. Royale Promenade Early Pool Deck. . . It looks like another Sunny Day ! . PH8 Posted January 7, 2008 #141 Share Posted January 7, 2008 On our last cruise, we were 4 also, with another couple, but in a little inside cabin.. As for changing and all, we were in a dance troupe all together (and normally we shower with our husband LOL ) Nancy Im thinking you four are probably not the average content(=overweight) Americans.......being in a dance troup and being able to fit 2 in a shower, bet you'll nice and skinny..:)
LaPetiteNancy Posted January 7, 2008 #142 Share Posted January 7, 2008 Trust me, two people will NOT fit in one of those little showers! ohhh, you could be surprised of where we can fit together! I showered with my hubby in one... ..with the curtain! LOL we will see if we fit in the shower together, we will definately try, that's for sure  Im thinking you four are probably not the average content(=overweight) Americans.......being in a dance troup and being able to fit 2 in a shower, bet you'll nice and skinny.. Yeah, we are kind of slim.. the others are more *normal* height and weight, I'm the smallest, beeing 5 feet tall (i wish! I'm a little shorter than that but i like to think that I have reached the 5 feet now LOL) and I normally weight 92 pounds (but I gained 14 pounds in the last few months, I'm over 100 now, wow! LOL) Radio: I love the pics about the spa in the solarium, I think I will spend alot of time there! Can't wait to see your San Juan photos.. Have a great day there! Maddycakes Posted January 7, 2008 #143 Share Posted January 7, 2008 Hi Radio, Thanks for the great info. My family and I will be on the Liberty in May on the same iterinary...I was hoping you could give me your thoughts on which nights we should try the specialty restaurants. In other words was there a night in the dining room you remembered the food or the menu were less than memorable. Any other secrects that would help us on our upcoming cruise would be great. It will be my 30th "B" day on the cruise and also I am bringing my almost 3 year old daughter. So any info would be GREAT:D

ColoradoRE/MAXCruiser Posted January 7, 2008 #146 Share Posted January 7, 2008 Good morning Radio! Thanks again for the fantastic pictures! Can I ask a HUGE favor? I'm sailing on the 26th with my family, including my 3 year old son who isn't fully potty trained. I heard there was a "Baby Splash Zone" for those kiddos in swim diapers. If possible, can you upload a snapshot of this area. I can't find any on the internet. Happy Sailing!! pinkrosesdeb Posted January 7, 2008 #149 Share Posted January 7, 2008 Radio, any chance of posting the spa prices? I have found the list of services but not prices. We like to do at least 1 spa treatment per trip. Last trip, I tried the Ioniethermie...won't do that again! Thanks for all the time you are putting into this! 1010Transistor Posted January 7, 2008 #150 Share Posted January 7, 2008 oooh, what happened at your Ioniethermie spa treatment? I like to do one spa treatment per cruise as well. I think my fav thing to do is the sampler specials they have on port days. Last time I got 20 min of reflexology (awesome!), a 20 min swedish back massage (awesome!) & a 20 minute facial (also awesome!) for like 70 bucks or something.
