Live from the Carnival Freedom !!!

We used the laundry service at least three times while we were onboard. Had some problems. Only once did we get it back the same evening, usually the next evening. One day we had a whole bag missing, when we got it back it had a different cabin number on it! They lost one shirt, our room steward looked for it everyday but no luck! Love taking clean clothes home though.

Fred your laundry should have come back the same day unless your room steward didn't turn it in early. Ask the steward about it. Also make sure to check your S&S account that they didn't charge you especially since you sent two bags the same day. I always put platinum in the special instructions.

Again thanks for your review. You are doing an awesome job and looking forward to all your pictures when you return home.

Paul- Looking forward to your review and pictures when you return home. Thanks for chiming in with Fred on this thread.

Mitchpam:

Do you still have snow?

Perhaps Fred should be looking for other people wearing his clothes :)

Freedom Day Day 5 St. Marteen

Today, what a beautiful hot sunny day to spend at Boo Boo Jam Beach, this is where the Carnival excursion called

Beach Break took us, its just up the beach from Orient Beach.

We left the ship at 10:30am and took a bus ride around into the French side of the island, there we stopped at a

gift shop to get some Rum Punch or Fruit Punch for the kids, 20 minutes later we were on our way to the Beach. The

beach is beautiful, aqua blue waters. They had lounge chairs for everyone and for $5.00 you can get an umbrella, we

got 2 of those. They also served up all of the Punch and RUm Punch you can drink, very tasty and they had bottles

of rum there if you wanted to add more rum to your punch to make it just right, they also served ribs, these were

the best ribs I have ever had, I mean honey BBQ style ribs!!, I even went back for seconds they were that good. For

those that eat at a place like Tony Romas, these ribs blew Tony Romas out of the water. Best ribs ever.

We got to the beach at Noon and spent 3 great hours there, during this time we had 3 nude women walk past us and

one nude wrinkly old man walk past us. No care whats so ever, just having a great time with their body parts

hanging out LOL. we were warned and also the Carnival Excursion details tell you that its clothing optional there.

Boo Boo Jam beach also had some nice little shops right there, their resturant also has great tasting foods also.

They served Burgers with fries, Shrimp skewers and Chickent skewers, they also has other foods there as well.

I would do this tour again and recommended, everyone seemed to enjoy the spot and also the water. Wendy's mom Cathy

has a blast in the water also. She thanked me once again as she is truely enjoying this trip.

They take you to either town to shop or back to the terminal, we opt to just head back to the ship as we got what

we needed to buy there at the beach.

We are back taking a shower, the beach is very salty, I mean you can still taste the salt. I ordered some Room

Service because we have around 4 more hours till Dinner. We also have a great show tonight at 7pm before dinner.

I got a St. Marteen tan, going to try to take care of it.

See ya all soon, 2 more sea days and this trip is over.

Fred,

This may seem like a silly question, but what kind of bodywash/shampoo/conditioner are in the rooms???? Its for my wife!!

John

No names, I will have to ask, Shampoo is a gold color and the Shower Gel is blue.

Q & A's

Pam7553,

Thanks, we got both bags of Laundry this morning, I used a black sharpie pen to fill out the info and cabin number myself on the bag.

Chexmix,

Thanks for the info, I just checked my Sail & Sign account, they didnt charge for laundry service, but I did see a charge for 31.00 at the Bar, Im going to have to check on that one. I been using my Drink coupons there.

The Laundry Bags they gave me say Valet Service on them.

We are suppose to be leaving St. Marteen at 5PM and its currently 5:10pm, we are still tied up along side Carribbean Princess, they just paged 5 passengers that are missing, either they checked in and the machine didn't register or they are still in town. I hope they are ok.

We did see an ambulance leave the pier, not sure from what ship they came from.

By the way, that Carribbean Princess towers over Freedom, she is monster ship, she also has 6 decks of balconies. I will have to check the stats on that ship when I get back.

Room service just came, it only took 35 minutes, not bad for everyone returning back to the ship and probably ordering the same.

snows almost gone... we are nearer the coast. My Dad still has 4 foot snow banks... UGH I wanna go on another cruise.... so glad to hear about other people having a great time... and reliving my own fun...

The snow is melting in central Maine (heat wave today - 58°) - but we'll be leaving the snow behind as we sail on the Freedom April 19th!. Take good care of her, Fred. Love reading your reviews.

Fred: I look forward to your daily updates. You made us all feel like we were on vacation with you. Thank you so much. FYI ...Caribbean Princess...I have sailed her several times (I am an Elite with Princess) she is 950 feet long, 116,000 tons and holds 3,110 passengers. Great ship but I trully love the Crown Princess very similar but a tad different. Enjoy and keep your updates coming.....I have a question on the Freedom....is there a charge for Sushi....I know they have a small counter near the casino that is opened in the evening? Thanks & enjoy the remainder of your cruise.

They don't charge for Sushi on any of the other ships, so I'm sure they don't charge on the Freedom either. There is a little cup to leave tips at your own discretion.

I got the ticker when reading this board--I saw it on someone else's post and just double clicked on it and it took me to the web site to get it.

Did you copy and paste the info they gave you into your edit signature?

Good Luck!

Fred--I've had a wonderful week on your cruise!!!

Freedom Day 5, St. Marteen

Its 7am and we just tied up to the pier, on the other side of the pier is a massive Princess ship called the

Carribbean, they would be pulling up and dropping the first mooring line in 5 minutes.

A bit cloudy but very nice, the waters are also the Aqua blue waters here by the pier. Im already up because the

aft thrusters woke me up and then I could see the Freedom do a 360 on the T.V., we are pointing out towards the

ocean. The Carribbean Princess is pulling straight in.

By the way, how long does it take to get the laundry back? We left 2 bags yesterday morning when we pulled into St.

Thomas, we still havent received them, I thought they are usually be back by 6pm the same day?

Fred

We were just on the Caribbean Princess in January. And we are cruising on the Freedom next February. How do the two ships compare in size? I was thinking that the Freedom was just about as big as the Caribbean Princess.

I am really having fun reading your live review. Can't wait until February!

Is the buffet open 24 hours a day? If not, what times is it open? If you have a chance, could you included some pictures of the buffet area and all the other eating venues - ie - Asian, Deli, Fish and Chips, and sushi bar. Thanks so much.
