Hey Paul! Is this the cruise you have the aft wrap on? Can't wait to hear your review afterwards! We are back from our second trip on the Glory and loved it just as much the second time around.

LOVE the live review Fred! We have not sailed out of Miami yet, but sounds like we need to give it a try. Customer service sounds awesome both there and on the ship!

Hope you both have better luck in the casino!

Fred -

Glad to see you are enjoying the Freedom so far. We loved her - can't wait to board her again soon. Make sure you catch Ron Pass in the piano bar - he is great. We are "living thru" you now - and loving every second. Quick question - when we were in the Posh dining room, Ken was the maitre'd - you said Dino was now. Do you know if Ken moved? He was great - personable, and sounded like Frank Sinatra when he sang. (I wouldn't doubt it if John Heald "took" him to the Splendor with him - they are good friends, and Ken really knew and enjoyed his job) We were hoping to get him again. Enjoy your cruise - have a dotd for us!

I just got off the Freedom yesterday. Ken was maitre'd until we hit Jamaica on Thursday and they told us he would be out the next few days. According to our wait staff she said that Ken was heading out for the Spendor and she was heading for it in June. Ken has always, like John, gotten the new ships, except when he temporarily retired and then came back for the Freedom. I was extremely disappointed that Todd was not our CD last week. Noortje was good, but she was no Todd, who I've sailed with before.

Q & A's

Pe4all,

We have Dino in the Posh Dining Room, I will ask tonight where Ken went, he might be in the Chic dining room. Dino is a wonderful great guy.

Pam7553,

Allyn Ball seemed to do well last night, he had everyone laughing I see you didnt enjoy his Midnight rated R show, I hope its better. Also I will have to take a good luck at the Asian window again.

Chexmix,

We went up to the Casino and got our Free entry card, the slot tournatment starts at 1pm, Cathy will be playing for me since she seems to be doing well in the casino, yesterday 219.00 and today 100.00 and she was 1 number away from the 1000.00 bingo last night.

Woodey,

The cabin you need is 2465, I spoke to the Hotel Manager and he also gave me a list of HC cabins, he also stated that there are no Cat.1a HC cabins onboard. He said there are a few that might be modified but not considered HC cabins. 2462 which is my cabin and the door widths are too small for a scooter but Cabin 2465 has 3 of my shoes length long and you can tell the door is wider then the one next to it. Cabin 2465 should allow a scooter in there but not a wheelchair because once inside you can't move around. You can park the Scooter in the long hallway. 2465 also had the modified bathroom with the pull down seat and no lip on the floor in the shower.

I spoke to a guy name Fred, he has an extra wide scooter. He told me that Carnival sent him 3 forms that he needed to fill out and send back in order to qualify to use a HC cabin. Without those forms you can not get a HC cabin. That was very interesting because they do enforce those HC cabins.

Readboat,

I have to tell you, compare to the Valor its quite bumpy back here but its because we are crusing at around 21 knots, a bit shakey kinda what you would feel in a plane, but it feels good when you go to bed as it rocks you to bed. Noise level from a 1 to a 10 I would say a 3. Im going to take a video shot of the ocean going by, you should be able to hear the sound or noise level also, I will post it when I return home.

Huey,

thanks for the Tip at the Mongolian Grille as I try to stay away from Spicy foods. YOu got one more cruise to get Platinum, you will have a good time with it.

Anyothername,

They have the best Tuna Every because I dont have to make it and I dont have one of the burners to toast the bread. :)

Host Randy,

I took my MIL out for a walk topside and we stood right next to the Caribbean Breeze band listening to their lovely music, I will go get Waynes email and shoot it to you or pass him yours. Todd is a great Cruise Director, when I see him I will tell him you said hello. James is a funny guy, we got our Bingo Cards from him, we will see him alot throughout the cruise. Im going to go see Ron tonight for sure, Ron was nice enough to show up on our Roll Call and say hello to us, I will see him tonight right after the Midnight Comedy with Allyn Ball.

The crew has been great, there are no signs of wear and tear on the crew or ship, I did interview a few of them and they told me that this was the first cruise that they implimented the new system, its the changes that came down from CEO Gerry, but we will not be able to tell, also the crew said that the changes do not affect them at all. All of them seem cheerful and happy. One crew member did tell me that CEO Gerry is totally different from Bob, Bob was more of a people person.

Gail811,

we love sailing out of Miami any chance we get, its totally beautiful out here.

Jayne315,

Behind the beautiful wall portrait with the beach scenary I will leave you a message on a paper, look for it.

Freedom Day 2 AT SEA

We slept in until 9am, got up and had a nice breakfast, pretty crowded at Lido but the lines went very fast. After Breakfast we hit the slots and also took Cathy up Topside for a nice walk. We got our Excursion tickets for San Juan which is the Old San Juan Sunset Walking Tour and for St. Maarten, the Beach Break.

Our first cruise was on the Legend in January. What we loved was taking walk on the sun deck (I believe 4 laps was a mile). Does the Freedom have a place to enjoy a good walk and work off some of the good food? We are going on the Miracel next winter and the Freedom the following winter. We live where winter is long and cold, so those days on a cruise are heaven to us. Enjoy your cruise, and we will be waiting to hear more from you!

Carnival Freedom Embarkation Day

The First thing we did was go and look for our Table, we couldn't find it because the tables never have the Table number on them when you first come onboard. Also there was no waiters up there to assist us, a few came by but they were new transfers from the Sensation ship. I figured I will just go and ask the Maitre'D. On our way looking around I spoke to a Carnival Rep about the Maitre'D times and she told me, Since I was Platinum I needed to go to the Pursers Deck right away. That was a good idea.

Once at the Pursers Deck, I stood in the Platinum section of the desk and they assisted me right away. I was told I was platinum and that they would handle the table selection for me and that they will call me later with the info or check back with them later. Fred

Fred; must you do both, go to the Pursers Desk, then to the Maitre'D? Or, can you just go to the Maitre'D concerning your table? We, too, are Pompous

Platinum but not sure I have the guts to cut the line, time will tell or maybe just how long is that line!

Thanks for checking Fred...We do have all the appropriate Paper

work on file with Carnival...and the Last few cruises we booked HC rooms but in the future we were hoping to get a few last minute deals when they popped up....and getting HC rooms at last minute is almost Impossible

Hi Fred, Am I to take it that you got the rental car from the airport and returned it to the airport? And was there a charge for the shuttle back to the port? Hope you all still have a good time on the cruise. I see you had interest in THE DREAM TEAM so maybe we can meet up some time:D

Thank you for the replies re: Ken and the dining room. No matter who we have, we will enjoy our experience, I am sure. And Fred - try to enjoy your vacation - you are going to end up spending more time on the computer answering everyone's questions, and have no time to relax! This thread may end up becoming an insatiable monster - and it is only Sunday!!

Its is best to just go see the Maitre'D, when I checked at the Pursers Deck, they havent even called or done anything with my request. I told them to forget about it because I already had it done. You have to still get things done yourself, too much work at the Pursers deck for them to remember.
