I love my collection of Sitmar glasses too.:) But...do you still have the silver boxes and felt pouches as well??? I use the boxes to hold costume jewelry and trinkets, while the pouches are great for keeping pearls...pearly;)

I have 8 Sitmar glasses with boxes :D

I read on another thread that someone suggested purchasing nice keychains when the ornaments aren't available, removing the hardware and adding ribbon for instant ornaments. This sounds like a good idea to me. Do you know if the Princess ships have nice keychains of the ships?

Yes they do. As a matter of fact I have the key chains of the ships that I have been on. Now I keep the hardware(keychain) on and just put a hook through it and hang it on the tree. By the way they are nice looking with the ship outline and the name of the ship.

My favorite is the bathrobes our cabin steward gave to us on our second Princess cruise. We had won a couple of bottles of champagne and we don't drink much so we asked our steward if there was someone she was responsible for that was celebrating an event. We gave the champagne to them. Our steward thought that was nice of us so she told us to keep the robes.

My most useful souvenir are the bungee cords they give out at the casinos. We use them for our room keys. You never have to take them off your neck when leaving or coming back on ship because the cord stretches.

Hi There,

for me this is simple it is a photo taken by the ship of my self and wife standing in front of the MUTS screen which is showing a picture of our dog wearing a santa hat and a meesage saying missing you mum wishing you a happy christmas.

This was the best set up of all time and thanks to so many at Princess for setting this up for me,.

yours

My favorite is always the photo album I have of cruise. Nothing can beat those wonderful memories.

You are right. That is the best for me, too.

My whole house is decorated in a mix of AZ Southwest with traditional. Some of my souveniers fit right into the decor, but not all. So when we built a new house with a nice laundry room I painted it a turquoise blue, put in white cabinets and filled it with my Caribbean memories. Now when I do laundry I am taken back to cruising.....the swish of the washer is the surf! Well, not really, but I can pretend!:p

my favorite is the black coffee mugs that have the ship name on one side & map of your cruise on other side, done in gold. I have one from all 3 ships I sailed on. I do not use them, I keep them on a shelf and I love to pick them up and look at the maps and remember all the great ports I visited and things I did.:)

I make it a habit to always get a picture of our ships flags when in port. I find it a great souvenir of our cruise and the ports visited. Great reminder of the weather we experienced in each port. The pictures can be taken from a variety of locations and views.

OK - silly question on my part.....do the flags change for each port? If they do - they I'm going to do that, too! Great idea.:D

Other than the huge emerald green glass ashtray given to me by James Deering, the cruise director on the Emerald last year, my favourite item has to be my inner glow glass shells. I purchased the first one, an anemone, on impulse on our last sea day on the Dawn as I had not bought what I wanted to ashore the previous day. I do love glass and this thing called to me every time I walked past the store. It appears to be clear glass but as you move around it, it glows with reflected light. Finally, on the last afternoon, I broke down and went in to find out the cost - and walked out with it. I haven't seen them on any ship since but my husband found the company on-line and got me another one for my birthday two years ago. Trust me, I'll be looking for them onboard every ship we sail.

Yes they raise it as soon as they dock and they retire it the minute they pull out of port. I just make it part of my daily ritual and always get a couple pictures as soon as we dock, just to make sure I have one. Later in the day after the excursions if the wind has picked up or the skys have stormed over, I take a couple different picture.

I then have a custom picture mat cut at my framing store, one flag from each port, and frame the collection. Makes a very nice keep sake.

Yes they do,(country/Island). :)

Hi there,

Rules of the Sea a ship is required to fly the flag of the country that it is in.

yours Shogun

Thank you for the responses. It's funny I never noticed that. You learn something every day on this board!

What a wonderful idea. I absolutely love it!:D Where do you find to be the best spot on the ship to get the pictures? We will be on the CB on our next cruise...then the Radiance of the Seas.

I found the sports or Sun deck the best location to shoot. Really depends on which way the wind is blowing. If you have a good zoom on your camera when you disembark for excursions just take a moment on the dock and snap a couple of shots to make sure you don't miss that port. That way your not rushing at sail-a-way to get a shot. In Antigua I got an excellent shot from a shopping area directly in front of the ship.

I forget to get a picture when we got off in Dominica and ending up literally rushing from our cabin which was toward the aft 2 minutes before we sailed to get a picture. I barely got it, but it the sun was already starting to go down. Taught me a good lesson.

On the Emerald we ended up buying a Dominican flag and hung it off our balcony. :)
