SHIP: Reflection

CABIN #: 9299

DECK #: 9

CLASS: Concierge

AREA: Port (almost aft)

BED NEAR: Balcony

QUIET?: Mostly... During rough seas the room creaked a LOT. It sounded like we were inside a bag of popcorn.

BALCONY VIEW: Excellent with no obstructions

BALCONY SIZE: Slightly larger than normal. The left-hand side of the balcony juts out about an extra 1.5 feet. That area has appropriate legroom for someone on the tall side who would hit their feet lounging in a normal balcony.

WIND A PROBLEM?: No

SOOT A PROBLEM?: No

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: I had read that the elevators were really quite far away, but from our perception it wasn't a big deal. That's not to say it won't be for some people, but I like to walk and enjoyed having a little farther to go! Aside from the noise of the ship settling (which I understand is normal for a newer ship), the room was very quiet and peaceful. A little bit on the warm side at night, but this is a consistent problem that we find with Celebrity. Overall we would definitely book this cabin again.

BED NEAR: Balcony

QUIET?: Very!

BALCONY VIEW: Excellent.

BALCONY SIZE: Last cabin aft on starboard side; much larger balcony

WIND A PROBLEM?: Jets out from the ship, but no special wind problems

SOOT A PROBLEM?: No

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: Aft wall is all steel, all the way out to the balcony. Only one wall common with another cabin.

SHIP: Reflection

CABIN #: 2155

DECK #: 12

CLASS: Suite Aqua Class

AREA: Mid Ship - Hump

BED NEAR: Bath

QUIET?: Mostly

BALCONY VIEW:

BALCONY SIZE: Large - typical for the suite size

WIND A PROBLEM?:no

SOOT A PROBLEM?:no

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS:This room is pretty quiet -- there were a few morning you could hear a chair moved above but nothing really loud. Close to lifts, No noise at all. Bathroom was large and had curved shower doors which were excellent. Plenty of space for toiletries. Plenty of storage space in the cabin. 2 chairs and table on balcony. Chairs had adjustable backs to recline. Light in bathroom has dimmer for night time. Bed comfortable -fits empty suitcases and life vests underneath. Hair dryer very good. We would book this room again.

Reflection

Deck - 9

Cabin # - 9241

Class – Concierge

Starboard or Port Side - Port

Bed near?(balcony or bath) – Bath

Connecting? - Yes

Quiet Cabin – Yes even though very close to the elevators mid ship and the main stairway. No noise problems. We traveled with our friends and used the connecting doors so noise from the connecting doors was never a problem for us. It may not be as quiet as a non connecting cabin but any noise would be pretty minimal.

Balcony View – On the aft side of the hump, so you couldn't see much forward but great view to the aft.

Balcony size? - Huge, largest size on the hump. I was pleasantly surprised to see how big it was.

Was wind a problem? Not that we ever noticed.

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? Nope!

Any specific problems with this cabin? None. We did smell smoke one time. At first I thought it was someone on their balcony and I was going to report it if I smelled it again but I never did. I now know that the promenade deck below allows smoking outside of bistro on five, so it possibly could have wafted up from there. Never smelled it again though. I booked the forward hump cabin on the starboard side next time since we are a deck lower, just to be on the safe side. But I only noticed it that one time and otherwise would book this cabin again. Location was very nice.

SHIP: Silhouette

CABIN #: 1405

DECK #: 10

CLASS: Sky Quite

AREA: Aft Corner

BED NEAR: N/A

QUIET?: Yes

BALCONY VIEW: Very slight obstruction on the right side due to some sort of construction material. Not a major deal as it's easy to see right around it.

BALCONY SIZE: VERY large

WIND A PROBLEM?:No

SOOT A PROBLEM?:Mo

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: As mentioned above, small issue with the machine. The balcony was absolutely huge and wrapped around the entire side. The room itself is absolutely oversized. Another issue with the balcony is that if you go out far enough, you can see people above and below you. Also not a big deal.

SHIP: Celebrity Reflection

CABIN #: 1222

DECK #: 10

CLASS: C-1

AREA: Aft

BED NEAR: Balcony

QUIET?: Yes, Only a couple of mornings when our neighbor had the grandkids visiting the stateroom.

BALCONY VIEW: View of the wake. This stateroom is almost right in the center of the aft balcony rooms.

BALCONY SIZE: About 5 ft. wider than the other C-1 balconies because of the cabin steward storage closet next to the room. There are 7 aft balconies with this extra space.

WIND A PROBLEM?: No

SOOT A PROBLEM?: Only on the port days did we see any soot. On sea days it was not an issue.

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: Wonderful room. Loved the ship!

SHIP: Celebrity Solstice

CABIN #: 8228

DECK #: Vista - Deck 8. Starboard side (Right hand).

CLASS: 1A - Deluxe Veranda on the slant of the hump facing forward (towards bridge/bow).

BED NEAR: Window

QUIET?: Very quiet.

BALCONY VIEW: Being on slant on hump - view looked either straight out or towards the bridge up the side of the ship (if standing at railing). If seated then view was really straight out.

BALCONY SIZE: Larger than normal standard balconies (probably at a guess by 50% at least).

WIND A PROBLEM?: No not normally. We did have a couple of windy days and it caught wind then (but so would most cabins) however, as it was a deeper balcony you could still sit outside and not feel much of the wind gusts unless you moved the chairs closer to the edge (unlike other cabins on the straight portions of the ship).

SOOT A PROBLEM?: Not a problem at all - never saw any.

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: Cabin main vestible at entrance is larger than the normal cabins as the outside hallway at this point is angling in (changing direction slightly) as the 'hump' joins the rest of the ship. The cabin is about 2 cabins down from an entrance into the lift lobby with its open atrium - however it is controlled by sliding electronic doors and no noise escaped into cabin.

Also, stateroom attendants storeroom is just outside cabin - however this was only used in morning when making up cabins and maybe late afternoon. There was no noise from its use or door slamming - overall a very quiet cabin (sometimes the attendants cart would be parked in hallway opposite while they accessed the store room).

Would (and indeed have for next year) book this room in a heart beat.

Picture of balcony location on ship. Deck 5 is where the lift boats are. Counting from 5, deck 6 is the first line of balconies. Cabin 8228 is on the slant 2 cabins from where the ship starts to slant in again and 3rd cabin of going from the right hand side from where the slant starts to go out (if that all makes sense. 8228 is the cabin directly underneath the people standing on the balcony above. NOTE: You also do not have a lifeboat directly underneath so when standing at the railings can see the water directly below. Picture taken at Melbourne (Australia's) Station Pier terminal.

Entrance to cabin. You can just see a hinge of the storeroom on bottom left of picture. As said, did not hear any loud noises nor slamming of doors. Only seemed to be used when rooms being made up and never at night so no sleep disturbed (a sign of this is we have rebooked the same cabin for next year so that shows how little annoyance it was. You can also see how the changing direction of the hallway creates a bigger vestibule (good for room service trays and bags). It also pushes the passing foot traffic that bit further away and hence I think quietens the room further.
