Roxburgh Posted October 16, 2014 #7 Share Posted October 16, 2014 Great! Who are the CD & ACD? And will they remain for the Antarctica sailings? I understand that David E. will be the CD for the Antarctic sailings and that Handre Potgeiter will be CD on Sojourn. Dan ... hope you are having a great time. We need to coordinate cruising better. It has been ages.

markham Posted October 16, 2014 #12 Share Posted October 16, 2014 Lucky for you to be on the Quest! I am guessing that you have many long term sailors on board. Who are the couple or person with the most days and who won the coveted Tiffany crystal gift? And how many days did you hear they have? Any runners-up? That's a fun event except for the runners-up. Happy sailing!
Chairsin Posted October 16, 2014 #13 Share Posted October 16, 2014 Markham, Are you talking about the Cass's? They were with us on the Legend this Sept/early Oct. Jean and Eric are lovely people -- I had not seem them for a few years and was so glad so see they are still sailing. I think they are at about 3,000 days. markham Posted October 16, 2014 #14 Share Posted October 16, 2014 Chairsin, I don't know who is on the Quest now from the longest-term sailors list- apart from Miss A whom I last saw on her last July. As she is chooses not to be feted at the Club party, some other couple or person would be the longest sailing guest. Could be the Cass couple but in any case I am sure Host Dan will let us both know. It must be tough for anyone to get a look into that exclusive "top sailor" club with such competition! Happy sailing!

Host Dan Posted October 17, 2014 Author #17 Share Posted October 17, 2014 Not sure who has the most days. We will be diamond members after this cruise. Weather has taken a turn for the worst, cold, windy and rainy. Hopefully better tomorrow for Bar harbor Maine!
Mjflowers Posted October 18, 2014 #18 Share Posted October 18, 2014 One week into our first Seabourn cruise on the Quest. All as expected. Marfalous. Dinner at R2 with Host Dan & Phil tonight. Did we have fun or what? Where is that fork. That's for you Dan. Looking forward to week two. All is good. All smiles:) Now, how about another cocktail. Caviar on the fantail or a cheeseburger late at night. Doesn't get any better.

Mjflowers Posted October 18, 2014 #20 Share Posted October 18, 2014 OFF tOPIC.Have you found an easy way to fly to Europe from AZ? From NY so flying was easy. Private charter if you are able:) otherwise it's usually a connect for us from Tucson to either Dallas on American or thru Atlanta via Delta. Either way it is always an all day adventure and not much fun. Go a few days early. A whole lot better on the body with a couple of days to rest before your cruise. Only one easy way from AZ to Europe and that is the direct BA flight into Heathrow,
Chairsin Posted October 18, 2014 #22 Share Posted October 18, 2014 From Tucson on our recent cruise we flew to Houston and then nonstop to LHR. Coming home we flew NCE to FRA to Houston then Tucson. For our upcoming April cruise we are flying out of PHX because we were able to get great flights using our FF miles. We fly nonstop to DC to visit family then the next day nonstop to Paris. After four days we will take the new high speed train to Barcelona to begin the cruise. Coming home from Rome we will fly to Switzerland to visit with a friend for a week and the will fly from Geneva to Toronto and from there to Phoenix. As you say, never as easy as it was when we lived in DC but doable. Though I will say bring able to go away for a month at a time makes this all more bearable. San Jose King Posted October 18, 2014 #24 Share Posted October 18, 2014 My wife and I are booked on the itinerary you are now on. We leave Oct. 11, 2015. Same ship, same ports. We have previously visited some of the ports but were wondering if you would share some of the highlights and things that would make a for a more memorable trip. We have 5 previous trips on Seabourn so we know what to expect as far as shipboard services go.
medroots Posted October 18, 2014 #25 Share Posted October 18, 2014 Good news Dan,Who's aboard crew wise? Sent from my iPad using Forums To finish response to crew question and others: Marcel Gademan is Hotel Director; Marchiano is MDR Restaurant Manager; Werner is F&B Manager; Carol is Destinations Manager; Liezl is Guest Services Manager. Executive Chef is Martin. Warren is Future Cruise Sales Specialist; Nigel and Mark are the bartenders in the Observation Bar and The Club, respectively. Judy is Verity's ACD.
